Hi.

There's a newer firmware (PFS3) avilable for your burner here:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1965

Click on the firmware number to download to your computer and then doubleclick the downloaded file. Newer media usually requires newer firmware.

Your Nero is a little out of date. You may want to upgrade to version 6.6.0.18. To do so, run the Nero 6 Clean Tool first. Be sure to write down your program serial number):

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

Next download version 6.6.0.18 from here and install:

Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Do not install the newest 6.6.1.4 from the Nero site as it is a little buggy.

CdRomPeripheral : SONY DVD RW DW-D56A atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off

The DMA (direct memory access) transfer mode is off on your burner. To reset this:

Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
Click the Hardware tab.
Click the Device Manager button.
Click the "+" beside IDE ARA/ATAPI Controllers.
Right click on Secondary IDE Channel and select Uninstall
Click OK and restart the system.

Here's couple guides in case you get lost:

Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AM3

CMC Mag is poor quality media. Try to use Taiyo Tuden, Verbatim, and Made in Japan labeled Fuji and Sony media for best results. Even though the disks were branded as Memorex, they were actually made by CMC Magnetics, a low cost, low quality supplier.

Edit: typos
