Hi Magicmud
Here's some suggestions.
1st let's edit out the serial at the top of the log - begins w/ 1A. Don't need someone else using it.
Quote:
Nero Version: 6.6.0.9
Update your Nero to this version - 6.6.0.18. Here's some links:
Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2 (recode and vision)
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
Quote:
Recorder: <PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105
May need a firmware update. Did you buy this drive or did it come w/ your PC? If it came w/ the PC who's the manufacturer (pc)
But this is an older drive - last firmware update was from 2004.
Quote:
Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AM3
One of the worst manufacturers of media. Switch to Verbatim or made in Japan only Fuji, Sony or Maxell.
The media you are using is also 16x - since this is an older drive w/ no recent firmware update look for the brands above in 8x or lower.
Quote:
File 'Drivers\InCDfs.SYS'
If you're not using Nero's InCD - uninstall it and run the clean tool. Can sometimes cause problems.
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/InCD_CleanTool.html

Try these and let us know how it goes - good, bad or otherwise!

Hi Binkie,
thanks for the info, the dvd burner came with the MDG (canadian) computer...any idea wher I should get the firmware update...I looked around and found this

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=25

but was scared off by the warning at top of page....tried the updates from Nero but no luck there....read some review that said others had problems burning dvd's with this model as well...any other ideas??... (still dont know what model firmware I'm looking for...is it Pioneer DVR 105 firmware?...or Nero?)
thanks, Hunter

hmmm for the firmware- you can try the 1.33 - doesn't look like this is a iodata. If MDG is Medion (don't know) then you have the latest one.
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=299

My experience w/ Pioneer firmware is if it does not recongize the drive it will not update to - you'll receive an error saying 'target device not found'.
But if you want to hold off on that then switch the media to the one w/ the burn speed listed above and let's try and rule that out.

So the no luck w/ the Nero update was another burn failure? Were you able to uninstall InCD?
