hi..i recently bought a s3 VIRGE GX2-Video Card-t.v out-connection type pci...

my question is :

will i require any software to do the vcr to vcd conversion, and if so what do you recomend.

also what type of cables will i need?

All you really need is a good capturing program! I cant really make any good suggestion though because i dont encode VHS to VCD!! As for the cables, you can get a set of cables to connect a VCR to your computer, just read your documentation that came with the video card to be sure of exactly what you need!

the smart arse clerk at the electronics store said a video card will not perform the function/s of video capture...one prog i had in mind though_ has been "Power VCR 2" by Cyber

What are you on about?? You need a tv-in connection with your video card to actually be able to use Power VCR in the first place!
