Hi All. After getting caught with a virus (which was sorted thanks to all who helped on AfterDawn) I am looking for a backup program to back up my personal files (some files are very personal) and photos. The windows backup prog that comes on the XP install disk only copies to floppy. I have heard that WinZIP do a backup progam but can't find any info on it. I want to copy to a hard drive and cd once a week. Can anyone recommend a program.

Well, my personal backup strategy is simple. I have an external hard drive to which I back up all my important things. I also burn some data DVD's in case the external HD gets screwed too.

If I always hear voices surrounding me, does it mean Im crazy or that I hear in Dolby 5.1?

Thanks, it looks like that is what I shall have to do, I was wondering if anyone knew of a backup program, which would save me saving files in the normal way.

Just one question...what do you mean by a program that can save files the normal way?

Hermes_vb sorry I didn't answer (had a bit of a family crisis) What I ment by the normal way was by using explorer and saving files/folders one at a time. Whereas what I was after was something like ms backup but being able to save to floppy.

I now have Cobian Backup thanks to Phantom69

If you know how to create a batch file; this is the easiest for backing up exactly what you want. This is what I use to back up to an external HD, and the batch file only copies new or modified files.

THANKS DFL you know I never thought of using a batch file, I use to love good old DOS, and I will soon create a small file to do what I want. thanks again

I just back up what personal files I need to DVD's, external HD's are always a good investment.

Arconis True Image can back up your whole computer, can be restored easily.
