Downloading games is illegal and last time i checked this forum is against piracy.
Playing backed up games will not work unless you have a soft or hard modded ps2 with swap magic or a mod chip, if you purchase a game from a store it will work with a unmodded one but when you download a game and burn it there is NO way to play the game without a mod.

the best thing to do is get someone who can copy files to memory cards, to copy cogswap loader to a mem card. Aswell as the expliot that will run cogswap when you boot a ps1 game. Then buy a Slide card off of ebay (quite cheap).
Then all you will need to do is put the ps1 game in, wait for cogswap to run, put in a high TOC ps2 disc (one that has a high file size) Like Grand theft Auto Vice city. Press Square, it will say "use cogswap". Use the slide card as directed buy the instructions u find on the net. Put your burned ps2 game in. use the card again. Press circle. there you go.!!!

No mod chip, but you will prog break the dvd drawer panel when you take it off. I did
