my friend is selling a used TA-082 psp really cheap ($110) and i don't know if i should buy it.. i already have a psp.
but if i can downgrade this psp he's selling, i will buy it for sure.
but i heard TA-082 is 100% impossible to downlgrade to 1.5... is this true?

It has been done but you have to have a lot of luck. There is a ''black spot'' in the motherboards that doesn't allow you to go below a particual firmware.

I'm stuck with a TA-082 as well.

There's apparently a modchip in the works that'll support the TA-082, and from there it might be possible for somebody to eventually do it, but it's pretty unlikely, as far as I know (although I don't know much).

It'd be easier to just sell it on eBay and find one that has the other motherboard. That's what I think I'll do if nothing encouraging happens soon.

It was something to the effect of a TA-082 compatible modchip may be on the way. The article said it may or may not mean a TA-082 software downgrader will ever happen, but it's not impossible.

that link is interesting but the method still requires you to get a modchip
