I'm a swap magic user and im wondering is it possible to play games that require 2 discs (because they are like 5-7gigs). For example im playing an RPG and then it tells me to insert disc 2 half way through or something like that. Does anyone know if using the slide tool method for booting up a backup game works for swapping to disc 2 and onwards? For example the game says plz insert disc2 > use slide tool to eject > swap disc and close > lock tray and continue. games im talking about in particular are grandia 3 and mgs3 substance.
sorry in advance if i missed a sticky thread containing the answer.

These type of games usually have a save point at the time you have to change discs. Since the PS2 will be expecting you to press eject you can't just use a slide tool to change disc as it'll think you've got the same disc in. Plus it'll probably still be spinning at the time.
So you have to save your game, switch off the PS2, then switch it back on & boot the 2nd disc loading your save game & playing on from there.

And this has been covered before.

If you have to switch in mid-game, you're screwed with Swap Magic. There's only two games I know of- Shadow Hearts 2 and Onimusha Dawn of Dreams, that don't permit a save in between discs with Swap Magic. With Onimusha, there's a fix, there isn't with Shadow Hearts that I know of. If you can save in between discs, you're fine, you simply boot off the next disc with Swap Magic and continue on. This is much more of a problem with PSX games. Grandia 3 allows a save in between discs, you're okay there. As far as MGS 3, I believe disc 2 is just the online mode, and disc 3 is the movies, I don't think there's any story-related gameplay on either disc. I'm not positive on that.
