I have these AVI files which are 2 parts to a movie, i can't join them as the framerate is different on them but i want to but them on to DVD to play on my standard DVD player.
So my question is this: If i convert both AVI files to DVD format and then put them in the VIDEO_TS folder side by side with no menu or anything will they play as a constant clip of will it stop at the end? If this is the case is there any programs that can get them to play as a constant film start to finsh?

Sorry friend, that is a different forum (and you will get better answers there).
I can tell you that DVD is DVD, 30fps (NTSC) / 25fps (PAL). Whatever the framerate of your 2 AVIs, it will be adjusted when the DVD is made.
Don't worry, throw the 2 AVIs into the 'project' and they should playback sequentially (like chapters).
Hope this helps, any more and you must go to the AVI To DVD forum :^)

They will have to be converted together in one project, the above method will not work.
If you have them on your HD you can try it with DVDShrink. Otherwise use an authoring app. With NeroVision you can combine and merge them if you like, tick 'Enable Smart Encoding' so it doesn't re-encode.
Maybe you can do that in an easy way.I want to say wianvi. If you use it,you can convert 2avi files to DVD together, don't need to consider about their frame rate. After you convert them into ONE DVD folder, the you can burn them to disc.If you like you can try the trial version here:http://www.winavi.com/avi-to-dvd.htm good luck
