Hey. My mum recently purchased a Toshiba eqium m70. I think its a 1.7ghz processor, and its intel celeron so its wireless.

Thats everything i think lol. Anwyay back to the point, im on it all the time but the fact still remains that its my mums. I want to buy my own, and i think my mums was £600 ish.
I was wondering whether you could reccomend anything similar, but you know, not exactly the same. I slightly better graphics card would be ideal but im not even sure i can spend £600.
Anyway, similar to that one. Could u see what you could dig up, im awful at bargain hunting. Im on the UK side of the pond also.

Well from what i read i can not see any issues minus the celeron. I would go with an Intel Pentium wireless rather than a celeron and if u want cheap like celeron go to AMD its better than celeron.
See if u can get a centrino.
I got a Toshiba Centrino and it works like a charm.

Is celeron the lessser one?

Well Celeron is the cheap budget Pentium chip that does have many support features etc...
If its centrino. Its good and relaible. I would go for some more Ram and DVD Burner and a Big enough Hardrive to deal with what I need to do with it.

Its got a dvd burner, Rams not brilliant i suppose, and 40gb is enough for me.

Yea personally I got a Pentuim Centrino wireless with DVD Burner and 512 Ram and 40gigs and all that I use it for is DVD Backing up and mum uses it for uni soo As long as it does what u want its good.

Thats what my mum uses it for, uni.
But i want my own one becase she makes me bring it down early etc, and i cant download torrents or other things incase i screw the laptop up.
I was in tesco the other day, and believe it or not, i saw some pretty impressive laptops. One of them was centrino, had 1gb of ram, 40gb harddrive etc. It didnt say the speed of the processor though, or anything about the graphics card.....

Well try to find out the the fine details and then post them. I personally think Toshiba make excellent laptops and I have used 2 so far over many years and have not come across any major issues.

Mate I live in Australia so I dont live where your from. I would just shop around for a dew weeks first and see whats out there and then i would get their flyers and then take them home and sit and look at the differences and what i want to get out of the machine and out of the flyers i have got which one can do so and fit my budget at the same time.
