I have an HP a1250n with a locked BIOS. I have identified the MSI MB I am using and was interested to know if I download the original BIOS will that then render my BIOS unlocked? Here are the links to HP's BIOS update page. Notice the two different MB's (MS-7093/MS-7184). If I search the MS7184 on MSI's site it says never made. But if I search the MS-7093 I find a match. When I run Sandra my system BIOS is described as 03/03/2006-RS480-SB400-6A666M4DC-00. Notice the RS480, that is the beginning of the board listed on MSI's site RS-480M2 & RX480M2.

I know there is no bumping threads but I need some help. Nothing on the internet says anything about anything concerning this subject. and HP says the obvious. I would really like to unlock my BIOS but need some expert advise.

The reason they lock the BIOS is because the systems are provided as basic idiot proof PCs for plug and play, they are never intended for tweaking.

No one would have worked on a crack into the BIOS as it would be a total waste of time, as the board won't be capable of any real improvements, and there are plenty of proper boards that support overclocking etc...

If you want to be able to tweak settings in the BIOS then get a proper motherboard, Asus, Gigabyte, DFI to name a few.
