OK i have two questions.

1)is it true the white psp has a brighter screen.

2)Would i have to downgrade it using american firmware or japanese firmware?

1) umm no... it's ridiculous

2) it dosen't matter, you only need the dump of the firmwares, I don't see why you need the actual firmware

The white PSPs actually do have brighter screens. At least the first white PSPs that launched did. I don't know about the ones that are in stores now.

Is that a good thing ? I'd have thought that a brighter screen equals less battery life........

Yea, it's a good thing. The battery life difference is like 5 minutes.

yup brighter/clearer screens and the directional buttons also stick out more (makes it easier to play tekken :P)
the buggy square button has also been fixed, the speakers are also slightly revamed to be louder
and if your unlucky also the new mobo...
