I've ripped the DVD according to instructions. There was no need to do anything to the material content other than burn it onto the back-up DVD-R (the size of the original was less than the size of the back-up DVD-R).

I was following the instructions to burn the DVD-R using Prassi PrimoDVD v2. Every time I try to burn the DVD, I get the following representative error messages in the log::

105 - 06-08-2002 19:56:54 |01| Job 1 Started <<<<<<< Data Job - 1 Disc(s) 1 Recorder(s) - Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104 1.20 - 1x - Record >>>>>>>
115 - 06-08-2002 19:56:54 |01| Job 1 - RecType:1 Mode:1 FSType:5
106 - 06-08-2002 19:56:56 |01| Job 1 Round 1 Started - 1 Recorder(s)
124 - 06-08-2002 19:57:00 |01| Job 1 Fixing-up
331 - 06-08-2002 19:57:01 |01| Job 1 Error: Host:1 ID:1 (L:) - Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104 Stopped because of VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS DVD Format Error
207 - 06-08-2002 19:57:01 |01| Job 1 Round 1 Terminated - 0 Good Disc(s), 1 Bad Disc(s)
312 - 06-08-2002 19:57:01 |01| Job 1 Terminated with errors <<<<<<< 0 Good Disc(s), 1 Bad Disc(s) >>>>>>>

I then went to the tools / options in the menu and tell the system to stop checking for proper DVD format (i.e. the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS errors) and the disk burns, but won't play in the set-top or pc DVD drives, but the files are there...

I don't know DVD structure inside and out, but some of the little things, all caps, correct files, etc., were all correct.

I couldn't find this annotated anywhere else (although I have to admit, my searches may not have been as concise as I could have), so I was hoping to get a little direction as to the next step.

Thanks!

Hey Numberman, I have the exact same problem. Did you ever find a solution to this?

your problem is that the fio file are incorrect prassi checks these files before they are burnt use ifo edit to correct the ifo files (get vts sectors) and you wil find it now works

I've done everything "properly" after reviewing alot of messages on this board and others, and I still get this error.

Yes I used Ifoedit to get VTS sectors and all that, and I still get this error.

Is this only an issue with PrimoDVD? Does this mean that the ifo files are screwed?

Me too. I did everything correcly. I think it's a Prassi PrimoDVD problem. I did find a workaround. Use ImgTool to convert all the files to an .img file and then use DVD Decrypter ISO->Write mode to burn it. Much simpler, no settings required and always works.

I'm in the process of trying to rip with DVD Decrypter since some people have mentioned that Smart Ripper + Prassi don't play nice together.

Will give that a try too. I remember back in the ol' days when I used to try EVERY single piece of software for the job to find what I wanted.....guess it's time to start doing that again.
