Because it can play backed up games which dont need to be bought which could potentially lose sony alot of money.
Damn, i thought that was the most obvious thing.. lmfao

Sony relies on game developers to keep the PSP alive and moving. If the game developers stop making games due to low profits on the PSP system, the PSP dies. Then Sony loses money because they have an obsolete console.

No they are not. And if piracy gets outs of hand then developers wont make games for the PSP at all. Therefore PSP dies, and Sony loses money.

There's a difference between when an Xbox or a Playstation console getting hacked and the PSP getting hacked.

Every system since PS1 has been hacked within a year or so except maybe Gamecube. That's took a while long since not many were working on it and the fact it uses a proprietary disc. They've all survived just just fine except maybe Dreamcast. My question is how much could they lose on PSP since it's mostly ports that are put out anyway?

When an Xbox or Playstation console gets hacked, there's so many consoles sold worldwide that the hacking community population barely puts a dent in gamesales.
When the PSP gets hacked, more people will learn of homebrew and ISOs. PSP doesn't have the huge userbase that "home consoles" have, meaning that every game sale lost could have a potentially bad result to the console.

Exactly. The fix on Devhook's website was illegal, not the actual program.

the reason sony is mainly movin on booster is because out of every program his is geting the most attention and sony fears that is they use him as an example they will sacre the rest str8 kinda what the goverment did when they wanted people to stop sharing music online they took out the main users and made sure the media got wind of it
4get psp's im on dat 360 now cha dig!!
