No double posting aloud.
Back to your question, what media are you burning on, and what speed? 8x?

It could just be the dvd's you are using, the best disks to use are verbatims, taiyo yudens, i would even say TDK are very good, when it gets jammmed is the system still trying to read the game? If so then you need better quality media.

maybe, but i have read some forums talking about some bugs in iso's that need to be fixed, beacuse this iso is in rar format and when you double click it to see inside it, it has all that ps2 junk you see, same stuff you see if you put a ps2 game in computer, and usually you just burn that iso as an image. PLEASE ANSWER
also back to your theory about getting a different media type disk, i think your right beacsue when you put it on the computer it dosent show the disk and makes a funny noise in the drive.

Yeah, the disk doesnt show up in the computer either because its not a really good burn, so if its not reading in your computer it will most definitely not read in your ps2, are you using a mod chip or swap magic to boot the game?

I checked to see if there was a fix or patch for the game but cant find any, i dont have the game so i cant help much, but i recommend you try another disk, if it loads and then jams, it could just be because it isnt a good disk.

So are you trying to burn more than 1 game on the disk, and lower your burn speed to 4x.

sorry if i dind texplained thorouly why i was confused, im confused of that fact that you put the game in the ps2 and waiting for a minuted for the intro of the game to come up, and skipping the intro you come to the title screen. and in the title you can move the cusror and all.
soo why does it not work when i press start game? the intro and title screen work?

Normally, when my games dont work, i change media and try a lower burn speed, and they work after that, you can try one more burn on the DVD-R you already have at 4x, but like i said they are not a good brand, and even if most of the games you burned work, it doesnt mean that your ps2 laser wont get stressed, normally bad burns stress out your laser, and eventually it will get weaker, so it is always better to use good media. I think you should lower the burn speed to 4, and use a different disk.

im diffently going to take that on boared and try a different media and lower the speed, but with my other media type disk i have burnt several copies of the game with lower speeds and praticully waisted them so yeh.
also on the title screen everything works you can change the options and load a save data even though i dont have one it still works. and thier the only pratical functions
i also would like to know if you think its the iso which could maybe damaged or corrupt, i dont think it is

No, its your crappy discs.
Change them for good quality media, like you've been advised about half a dozen times now, and burn at 1/2 the disc's max speed.
I use RITEK G05 8x DVD-R & burn at 4x with 100% success rate & that includes ECHELON's release of Grandia 3
Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

sooooooo WHAT HAPPENING?

-rw don't work well if they work at all. Try with the -r on better media at no more than 4X like you've been told a dozen times by now and if it still doesn't work then you can take it from there.

Or your chip compatible with reading DVD-RW media, if not it wont work. I think you should go out and get a new disk, will be much better.

Never use DVD-/+RW's with the PS2, they put too much strain on the laser. I believe Ace hit the nail on the head, sounds like a case of crappy media. What's the Media ID of the discs you're using?
91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Huge List of Media ID's (Thanks to DogBomb): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/155431
8x Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's are the way to go. I have two backups of Grandia 3, a 1:1 backup and one I downloaded. I beleive the one I downloaded was the Echelon release, too long ago to be positive. One copy is burned to 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's (TYG02) and the other is burned to 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD+R's (Yuden000T02) and they work fine. That leads me to believe the media is the problem.

im going out today to find a TDK DVD-R and i will try and find a Vetabrim DVD-R Aswell. i will reply as soon as i get it on disk.
i was also suprised when one of my previous burns on the magmedia type disk which is said to be not a good media type, worked on my ps2. i mean i could actually play the game. BUT when I rebooted my ps2 to see if the game would work a second time it didnt work.
so i think those people who told me to get a new madia type disk is the way to go.
like i said i will reply asoon as i get the disks and burn the game.
which will be the same day i posted this.

Don't worry about trying to find TDK, even the TDK's with the TTH02 Media ID aren't that great. That was the Made in Japan TDK media, by far the best of their offerings, which has been discontinued. Your best bet would be to find some 8x Taiyo Yuden's or Verbatim's.
86. Q. Where can I find good deals on legit Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's?
A. http://www.supermediastore.com Great List of Merchants locally, online, in the U.K., etc:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/buyerguides/buymedia.htm
106. Q. Where can I find top notch Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media locally?
A. This is somewhat of a crap shoot. Big manufacturer's like Fuji and Sony have at one point past or present payed Taiyo Yuden to manufacture media for them. The big companies slap their name on the label even though the discs were manufactured in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. These discs will always be made in Japan. Authentic TY media isn't made anywhere else. Even if it says Made in Japan on the label, there is no guarantee of getting authentic Taiyo Yuden media. You could still end up with Sony or Fuji media codes. Hence why I said this is a crap shoot. Places like Comp USA, Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Staples will carry Made In Japan branded discs. If you don't want to risk getting non TY discs, you can find 50 packs of Verbatim in the afore mentioned chain stores. There's a trick to spotting Taiyo Yuden's under the Sony label. Newer 8x Sony DVD+R's (Media ID: Yuden000T02) will have an octogonal spacer (piece of styrofoam) on top of the spindle. 16x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's (TYG03) will also have an octogonal spacer on top of the 50 spindles. You'll still want to check to see if it says "Made in Japan" on the label, but newer batches of TY's can usually be identified by the octogonal spacer. One other alternative is the Made in Japan High Grade Maxell DVD+R's. They will say Made in Japan on the label and "High Grade" as well. These are excellent media. Remember when using DVD+R's, it's best you have a burner that supports booktyping/bitsetting, and a v.4 PS2 or later. Much thanks goes to kivory666 aka "docTY" for this information. He is indeed the Taiyo Yuden master. The best place to get authentic Taiyo Yuden media is from reputable online vendors like http://www.supermediastore.com http://www.rima.com http://www.meritline.com or http://www.newegg.com
