alright i will go for the vertabtims but what one the DVD-RW or DVD+RW or DVD-R or DVD+R

Yeah, tokijin is right, because the TDK's might not work for you, but the verbatim and taiyo yuden work for almost everyone, so try to get those, there is only a few quid difference in price. ;)

8x DVD+R or DVD-R should work fine. V.4 PS2's and later should read DVD+R's fine. Dunno if you missed the earlier posts or if that was a typo, but do not use DVD+/-RW's with the PS2. The surface is very difficult for the PS2 laser to read and can burn it out very quickly.

What do you think is the best old ps2 model, and that works best? I think its the v7, but what about you?

I don't really think there's a best PS2 model. In terms of hardware, they're similar except for mobo design on v1-3's. V9/10's suffer from the LA chip shorting and require a "romeo mod." Different version PS2's firmware utilize the laser differently, which accounts for why certain versions (9/10/12) require laser fixes of some sort. On the other hand, v.9/10's are well known for how fast they load games. V.1-3 lasers are picky with CD-R's and DVD+R's. So is there a best model PS2 in terms of reliability? I've talked to Davbere about this, and he doesn't think so. I would generally say v4-10's are pretty reliable. V.13 and 14 slims are pretty reliable as well. Of course the solder points for HD Connect/Combo on the v14's have been removed, which would make them undesirable to some. Personally, I wouldn't bother with a v12. The slims are known for not making good DVD players, I've read they have trouble reading DVD movie backups.

Yeah, in terms of specs, they are all the same, i just wanted to know which one worked best, and had the best laser life, etc, sorry didnt make myself clear before. Anyway thanks for the answer.

Look for some 8x Verbatim's or Taiyo Yuden's.
