I just bought a new PS2 and it is my first one. I plan to get it moded but I have no idea how to copy games. I would really appreciate any help as I was going to buy this doomed program to do the copying but it seems that it does not work!!

Thanks

Thanks for clearing that up chaser435. trc & PS2WK2WK - u need a mod chip or swap magic (or something similar) to play your ps2 backups. I am from Australia so I only know where to get them from here. We have a newspaper called the trading post here that has some advertisements in it - not sure if you have something similar there... DVD Decryter is definately in my opinion the best and most cost effective way (its free) to backup ps2 games. I have only been doing this for one week, prior to that I knew nothing. I have successfully backed up 8 playstation games without a hitch. I have also had success with DVD's. I have used TDK-RW and have ordered some Ritek G04 -R's which I have heard are the best.If you do a search under guides, you will find step by step instructions on how to it. Hope this helps.

P.S. A mod chip needs to be soldered inside the ps2 console. This will void your warranty which is why many people opt to go with swap magic as there is no soldering required. Cost for the chip is about US$30 and installation approx $70. The process normally takes about 1.5hrs. It usually takes me about 30 mins to burn a ps2 game. If you decide to go with the mod chip, there are plenty available on the internet. Try to find one that includes installation unless you or someone you know is good at soldering. Anyway, getting off the topic anyway. Main point - don't pay for DVD Wizard Pro when you can get DVD Decrypter for FREE!!!

Thanks guys for the info. ITs great. I am just wondering; If you say that the swap card and the mod chip can do the same thing and the swap card is cheaper and does not void the warranty, Why would anyone install a mod chip?

by the way I am comparing the PS2 slide card, PS2 flip top and the PS2 DMS3 chip on thegiantstore.com. Why would I choose one over the other!?

I am definately no expert on this matter and as there is a ps2 forum on this site, I would suggest you do a search there and you will more than likely find your answers. The reason I didnt go with the swap disk option is because a) it doesnt play all games. There are patches you can download from the internet for this but it just seemed like too much hassle. b) Every time you play a game you have to go through the swap disk process. As I have children, again this seemed like too much hassle. I just wanted something that was easy to use without ongoing problems and this seemed to be the only option to provide that. sure, its a bit more to begin with but I feel it has been worth it. Just make sure you get a warranty and someone that knows what they are doing. I have be told that there is a good chance that the slide card can damage the tray in your machine. Most people that are right into this will say that the mod chip is the best solution however as I stated check it out for yourself on the ps2 forums. This is a thread about dvd wizard pro ;)

I bought DVD Wizard Pro some time last year. All it was was text and since I could read it, I guess I would have to to say that it worked. Of course I was expecting programs. I didn't even try for a refund. I guess I figured I would just chalk it up to experience. It's not the first time I was ripped off and probably not the last. In this case, it looks like the best things are free after all.

I don't even want it any more. Like many others, I fell for the "Copy X-Box games and play them without a mod chip". I didn't think it was possible, but I thought I'd see. If their product has a program in it now, I doubt it's any better (or as good) as what's out there for free.

Hello,
I also purchased Wizard Pro and was very disappointed, I already had several DVD copying software programs at the time that I purchased DVD Wizard Pro and the only reason I purchased Wizard Pro was to make backup copies of X-box games, after I purchased Wizard Pro I found out it was a bunch of freeware with an Ebook giving you a list of hardware you need to buy, and I knew i would have to buy a modchip for my X-box, I'm not talking about that, and the program itself looks like they copied the GUI from Intervideo DVD copy, they look almost Identical the only difference is Intervideo DVD copy acually works, for the guy that whats to make copyies of PS2 games I use Pinnacle Instant DVD copy for that and it works great it has a profile built into the program for just that, you still need a modchip to play the game of course, you can buy Pinnacle instant DVD copy and Intervideo DVD copy on Ebay for next to nothing and they blow DVD wizard pro out of the water, your still going to have to use a DVD ripper if your going to make backup copies of DVD's like SmartRipper,

bottom line don't waste your money on DVD Wizard Pro it doesn't work on my machine either, nothing but error messages, if you did get this program to work for you consider yourself lucky!, all the other programs that I mentioned Pinnacle Instant Copy, Intervideo DVD copy work great!

First of all Im not in any way supporting this progam or saying go use this program but if you bought it this is the easy way of working it and beleve me it took me months to find this out so it is not easy to do but here we go..
first get the program running click source device this is the dvd drive it looks like this E: or D[DVD_video] click this and then click the green button and a pop up window comes up asking for the ifo files these are the files that are on the dvd there are alot of them 10 or more matters how big the dvd is..so it wants the ifo file you take your pointer to the look in box and to the far right theres the pointing down arrow click that it shows your dvd player with the words DVD_video click this and it goes to video_ts file click this and then it goes to the dvd its self this is where the ifo files are each one is parts of the dvd move there are alot and u have to burn all of them this is your dvd movie.. there are 10 or more files you burn them one by one it is very very sucky it takes way to much time to make this program burn but if you want it to work there it is.....

Obviously as represented by this forum DVD Wizard Pro product claims are not reliable and neither is the product. My attempts to load return "package most likely damaged". Multiple attempts to gain support go completly unanswered.

What to do:
1)Hit them at their transaction service
If you purchased through clickbank use the site to report DVD Wizard Pro non-functioning product and non-existent services: http://www.clickbank.com/cs/cs-inquiry.cgi
Cut and paste this into your complaint:
This product has NEVER worked and repeated attempts to gain support have met with NO response at all. You should terminate any and all business with this SCAM and demand repayment on the part of persons purchasing though your service. I and others who purchased this product will shortley wage a campaign to identify this organization's product claims as fraudulent.

I handle technical support for DVD Wizard Pro. If you feel that you been misled by any DVD Wizard Pro advertisements, then I of course encourage you to report it to the proper place that you feel necessary. We can, and will handle any claims, or investigations that are made, as we always have. DVD Wizard Pro does everything it claims, it can copy a full single layer disk, and the entire movie from a dual layer disk. We offer tutorial information on how to backup most console video games, and play emulator games on your PC without a mod chip, since this is the only way it would be possible to play a backup game without a chip. We offer a demo version for any individuals that wish to test out DVD Wizard Pro before their purchase, if they do not like the program, they do not have to purchase it. Our website does not make any false claims. As for the users that claim that our GUI looks like another programs, your statement is simply untrue. The truth is that this forum is constantly being posted by competitors that are jealous of the success of DVD Wizard Pro, and wish to bolster their own programs. Many of these posts are libelous, and are meant to slander our products name. If any technical support questions have been ignored by any users please email support@dvdwizardpro.com at any time, and your questions will be answered. If for some reason you cannot run DVD Wizard Pro because of a hardware conflict, we of course will refund your money.

Within the two month we will be releasing a new program that will allow you to backup an entire dual layer disk. This will put an end to a most of the confusion and problems that users are experiencing with our latest release.

I handle technical support for DVD Wizard Pro.
Response) Not particularly well...

If you feel that you been misled by any DVD Wizard Pro advertisements, then I of course encourage you to report it to the proper place that you feel necessary.
Response) OK, I have which is why your responding in kind....

We can, and will handle any claims, or investigations that are made, as we always have.
Response) I refute this claim. To date you have NEVER responded to my multiple requests....

DVD Wizard Pro does everything it claims, it can copy a full single layer disk, and the entire movie from a dual layer disk. We offer a demo version for any individuals that wish to test out DVD Wizard Pro before their purchase, if they do not like the program, they do not have to purchase it. Our website does not make any false claims.
Response) AHHH, if only I could get your application to load and run, perhaps then I could agree.

Response) I have no motive other than receiving that which I paid for. I don't think you have paid enough attention to all the posts from USERS.

If any technical support questions have been ignored by any users please email support@dvdwizardpro.com at any time, and your questions will be answered.
Response) So how many times attempts are necessary before you respond? I imagine from the jist of most of these posts you could never respond to all the dissatisfied USERS posts.

If for some reason you cannot run DVD Wizard Pro because of a hardware conflict, we of course will refund your money.
Response) As I stated I cannot run your product and have not received any response to my many requests for help. You would best be served in refunding my purchase. Otherwise I am sure that I, and the other dissatisfied purchasers of your product can basically shut you down by word of mouth. Simple way to end this - REFUND OUR MONEY.

Within the two month we will be releasing a new program that will allow you to backup an entire dual layer disk. This will put an end to a most of the confusion and problems that users are experiencing with our latest release.
Response) We are holding our breath - not.

Obviously you have too many complaints to keep up with them accurately. I was the "last user" you refer to. I never said I didn't receive it but that it would not even load. Here is the clickbank order number:

Product name: DVD Wizard Pro

Here is the last e-mail you were sent on 7/25:

Since you have not responded to any of my e-mail regarding support or a refund be advised that I have submitted the following to multiple forums:

I will let the readers of this forum determine who is beleivable regarding this matter. I have no more to loose than the $40 for which I still await your refund.

And here is your response in a private message:

Just so you know, sales are better than ever, you allowing us to post
our demo has actually raised our sales. Simply put, your claims are
false, and people see this. We have been in contact with Clickbank and
they have agreed to ignore your false claims. As for your request
for a refund, I'm sure that you have requested this already through
Clickbank, so this should be taken care of.

So you admit I am due a refund, you just won't post that response. Too bad I requested the refund after Clickbanks 90 day limitation. Shame on me for not taking action before 90 days of ZERO response from you regarding my issue with loading your application. Oops, guess I just demonstrated another false statement on your behalf! Clickbank did not recognize my claims as false at all. They apologized for my problems with you and iterated the 90 day policy. But by all means please keep posting. It is obvious when you do who is falsifying statements.

and make a product from them..

as for know i am advising all peoples reading this thread to not buy this software..

It IS a rip off
