I have a modded PS2 that for some reason does not play any PS1 games (Back up or Original) and I have 2 PS1 Games that I would love to play. I was wondering if there was some way that I could put both games on 1 DVD. Im not sure if that will even help but I do remember that there was a way to make a multiple game DVD with PS2 games. Maybe its not reading the PS1 Game because its on a Cd. If anyone knows how to do this or has some other idea please let me know. Thanks so much for your help!
I cant remember what mod chip I have. I know it is about 3-4 years old but it never booted ps1 games. I shipped it to California to have it modded because I fried my previous PS2 trying to solder it my self :). It may have been the 1st gen DMS chip But im not 100% sure. When I turn the Ps2 on for the first time it shows colored bars and makes a long "beep" sound and I have to hit reset again to get the system to come on.
Lemme clarify for the record. I'm not 100% putting PSX games on DVD will not work. However, I seem to remember reading that there are LBA checks in PSX games which check to see if the game is on CD. In fact, I tried this with Lunar the Silver Star, and it didn't work. It was a last ditch effort to get my PS2 to read the disc. You can try, though I wouldn't invest more than a couple discs on it, DVD's are too expensive. Because it didn't work in my case obviously doesn't mean it can't be done. I'd say I'm about 75% it can't be. Did your chip used to boot PSX games okay? Some older chips required the user to press reset twice to boot PSX games.
(Not sure if it will work for psx games as it uses a different driver, due to the different speeds of the disc.)
You may be able to get it to work,
It is confirmed to work for ps2 cd-games to dvd format,
It may or may not work for psx games,
But I figured it may be worth a shot.
drag all the folders listed, one by one into a new folder, taking note of the order
open scanlite, and browse for the folder you just put the files/folders in
click dvd....(if the game was originally a dvd rip,you must click restore first, then scan all the files/folders,etc)then after this..
scan all the files/folders,etc
open Nero burning rom,and select udf/iso option,....click new
open the folder with all the files/folders in,(get both on the same screen, its easier)
drag over the folders etc into nero(column on the left),dont worry about the order that thay appear in Nero
as long as you drag them over in the exact same order as they appeared in isobuster you will be ok
burn it onto a dvd
its not gauranteed to work,as some games have lba checks in them,so dont blame me
