Hi all,

I downloaded a PS2 game and want to burn it to a DVD. The thing is, I read on the Swap Magic website that I will need to use their file (which I downloaded) in order to autoboot the DVD after burning.

The file I downloaded is called SMBOOT.ZIP. The instructions tell me to use the file called PS2.ISO and burn that with the image file.

When I looked at the unzipped rar file, inside were lots of files which I sort of expected but the problem is that there are 2 files called PS2.ISO, the difference is one file is about 24MB but the other is 1KB.

Which one do I use?

Thanks

I've never heard of a backup booting without either a modchip or swap magic being booted first. An easy way around this is to burn your game onto GOOD DVD media at half the rated speed. Boot swap magic, when it stops spinning, switch it for your backup and hit X.

Hi again,

Sorry, I made a mistake in my explanation earlier.

I should have said that the DVD would only boot after using Swap Magic.

So first I would have to boot up using Swap Magic and then choose the SMBOOT option.

But here was the question I really wanted to ask:

I got the file from the swap magic website. Here is the link for the zip file.

www.swapmagic3.com/smboot.zip

If you unzip the file and take a look at the contents, there should be 2 files called PS2.ISO and that's what's confusing me.

I dunno which one to burn with the image.

On a side note, I also read that it should be ok just to burn the ISO image onto the blank DVD and then after burning it, just use Swap Magic to boot up the game.

So do you guys think that I should just ignore the downloaded zip file and burn the ISO on it's own?

You don't need that file, its only for memory card exploits.
