When i go into Nero to copy a DVD, it wont let me select any lower than 4x speed.
The blank disc i wanna burn to is compaitable for 1x - 16x.

Why do you want to go less than 4x anyway 4x is pretty slow anyways.

@binaryref..... Jozza321 has a point..... why burn slower on those 16x disks? slower is not better. Read this:

it's about Verbatim but you get the idea about burning speeds..... slower is not better ..... rule of thumb.... burn at half the rated speed of the disk..... so 16x disk should burn at 8x or even at 12x for best results!

because when i burnt the DVD at 4x speed it would jump slightly every few seconds

but i think this might have been because when i set it up in Nero Vision (burning AVI to dvd), i did not set the Transcoding Quality to 'High quality'

and Encoding Mode was not set to 'High Quality'

could this be the reason why it was skipping slightly ?

disc brand is TDK

Nero Vision version is 4.5.0.24

If you are trying to COPY a DVD NeroVision is the wrong chioce, it's an authoring app meant to create, not copy.

You CAN copy a DVD by using Nero Recode!!
To burn AVI then you need to use NeroVision as stated.
