Help with DVD+R DL on DVDShrink + Nero

I've seen a lot of great help here, so I was wondering if you could assist me. I have an NEC ND-2510A DVD drive that writes DL DVDs at 2.4x. I've tried DVDShrink 3.2 to rip and Roxio RecordNow (latest ver.) to burn but I get this message:

So I tried DVD Shrink's feature with Nero (7.2.3.2b) and I got some similar lines with a "Burn process failed" message. I'm using Memorex disc to test it out (and if that works, I'll be looking at Verbatim.) Is it the discs I'm using? Is it the drive, software, etc? Thanks!

Firstly you will have to remove Nero6.3.1.4, I personally do NOT like 7.2.3.2 so heres my suggestion, uninstall Nero, run the Nero6 clean tool, http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html and then the Nero7 clean tool, http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html
and then install this more stable version 7.0.8.2 from here

One of the reasons I dont like 7.2.3.2, try to free up some memory, dont multitask.

You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
BTW. You seem to know about memorex so no need to tell you how bad they really are!

Thanks for the help. I uninstalled of Nero and cleaned everything using the tool, but for some reason I can't update my driver to 2.18. When I click on the updater, it says "Target NEC ND_2510A is not found correctly" even though it is my drive.
Any tips?

And yeah, I read about how awful those Memorex discs are. Suffice it to say, those things were sacrificed (and plenty of them too) for a greater good!
