I tried it before with 3DSmax8 and it is really hard to create a character model or somethin. You got to be a real expert to deal with all the arigomic and texture align.
or you could try maya maybe its easier..not sure tho..haven't try it yet. Maybe i should read the manual first..

Sorry for the late reply! Do I need a game engine or is there 1 in 3Ds Max? And I also visited Rockstarnorth.com and you can aply for a job example---> in-game animation, land scape artist, lvl desighn and so on...It also looks that you don't need a deploma. Enywayz to even think of aplying for one of those you need 3Ds Max trayning (I have the program but I know nothing).

I don't know much about 3ds Max to be honest, but I have it.I do know a little bit on Catia though, and to get the best results out of Catia you have to have a dedicated PC.The engine for games isn't built in a 3d environment it is programmed, this I do know.I think you have to learn some programming or have someone program for you to build a game engine. The languages you can use are Visual Basic,C\C++ and I'm sure there are a couple others like Java.In order to make a game that competes with all the commercial games you will have to spend years working on it.I don't think one person could make a game either, cause of the time that is needed. It would take a whole group of people to actually produce a game like Rockstar.
Yeah I am thinking of learning a language like, c++,java,DOS,Html or ruby.
but like I sead if you want to work for R* you need 3Ds Max experianse. I am a good artist but I want to learn 3d modaling. I think I will leave the hard-core programing to the programers.
