I have run into this error when ripping episodic DVD's like the series Over There. I have run into this error with some other DVD's like the movie Prime. I have sent these discs back to the retailer saying they are scratched but each new copy has the same error or the same disk. I went through one DVD renter and checked out 3 different copies and received the same CRC error. I have used DVD Shrink, Clone DVD, and DVD Decryptor to no avail. I cannot seem to get around this error. It doesn't help to clean the disc. They play properly in the machine. It doesn't seem to be random coincidence to me that these errors are coming up on at least one disc out of an episodic series. Can anyone help me get around this error. I even tried recording an older series like Shoah and can't get past the CRC error on disc one.

Try ripping the disc with DVDFab Decrypter to your HDD first and then proceed with DVD Shrink as usual. Or you could give RipIt4Me a try, both are free programs and take care of newer copy protections that DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink can no longer handle by their lonesome.

I tried to use ripit4me but I find it a little difficult to use. However, I was able to finally overcome this CRC error using DVDFab Decryptor and VOB Blanker. Thanks and talk to you later. Katherine

Glad you got it working....

Ripit4Me is a little more of an advanced tool, but once you get used to it anyone can use it. DVDFab Decrypter is certainly the easier of the two to use.

I just had the same CRC errors. I hve been an avid Shrink user, but its running out of power these days. I tried DVDFab and it worked a treat. Thats what I'll use from now on!
