nope u need to use a wifi connection, and connect to a wireless router! and in future please turn of caps lock looks like ur shooting! :D cheers

wifi is a wireless connection, so basically waves get sent trhough the air etc, u need to be in a wireless hotspot (towns etc) or connection to a wireless router to connect to the internet, through a wire isn't possible

what version is a psp fresh out of the box is it 1.5 or something else and what is the best recommended if just want use my psp as a second laptop for surfing the web not playing games online

man DO NOT UPGRADE AT ALL if u have a 1.5 then stick to tht firmware version u can just use devhook 0.46 to use ur psp as a 2.71 which as internet browser

IF I ALREADY HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER AND I GO BUY A BRAND NEW PSP FROM STORE WILL I BE ABLE TO GET CONNECTION TO SURF INTERNET BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO DOWNLOAD ALL THAT DEVHOOK AND OTHER FIRMWARE VERSIONS
I JUST WANT INTERNET BECAUSE I HAVE HEARD THAT GETTING DEVHOOK AND UPRGRADING OR DOWNGRADING YOUR PSP CAN LEAD TO BRICKING IT

oh right then if u buy a new psp it must be 2.71 to have internet browser or i think 2.5 and 2.6 have it aswell

any psp you buy - if buying brand new will be able to access the internet
permitting you have a wireless router - or wifimax
if you are lucky enough to get 1.5 you can always upgrade (takes two minutes, psp will do it for you)
or you could use devhook
and by the way
posts consisting of all caps are against forum rules......
(just thought id point that out)

I think the whole "devhook will brick your psp" is just a stupid rumour...am I right?
Firmware - 1.0 > 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 1.5 > 2.6 > 1.5
I make my own signatures, isn't that an amazing and boring fact for me to put here? Don't PM me with an answer...well you could, give me something to talk about or you would probably be completely rude about the matter....just one more dot? ok ..... . |

yep, it cud only happen with devhook IF you decide to write to flash, in which case is still VERY unlikely ive wrote to the flash 3 times, and its been safe! so yeah just a rumor really..

also u can only write to flash with 0.46 so if u use an older version than it wont brick ur psp!

i dont want to upgrade or download or downgrade my psp in any way i just my access to internet through my router on my psp right when i open my psp out of the box can that be done or not
no upgrading or downgrading of any kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and no devhook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i sed u dint need to upgrade..... read it again :S psp's tht u buy now will be atleast 2.5/2.6/2.7/2.71/2.8 and all can use the net, u dont need to upgrade!!!!!
