Well I was watching loads of videos on youtube of people downgrading 2.5/2.6 to 1.5 and the ones that left the GTA disc in after they downgraded got a message of how the game couldn't be read, would it be safer to take the disc out after the downgrade has complete and the blue screen has come up asking you to press O?
I'm definetly downgrading but I have a week to wait until I can get my PSP so i'm just using the time to ask questions =)

I'd take it out just in case... since the GTA load menu is loaded off the memory stick, there's no need to even have GTA in anymore I think, but just in case you do need it, you could disrupt the downgrading process. If not, you could return it, if it's within the time, to wherever you bought it and get a new one. Even if it was one with the exploit patched, you'd already have a 1.5 PSP so it wouldn't matter. Also make sure you don't have a new motherboard or else there is a very high chance of a brick.
