are there any newer/updated emulators for 1.5 firmware?
the snes emulator i have is really painfully slow when i play rpgs...
its pissing me off!

For Megadrive, DGEN is supposed to be a good emulator, but I can't ever get it to work so I use PSP-Genesis, which is a decent emulator.
For SNES, the only way to go is Snes_9xTYL, its the daddy.
The new Master System emulator looks awesome.

what does it do?
i already have nesterj and snesx9tyl 0.4.2, and dgen working on my psp
i just wanna play a F'n rpg on my snes without it being slow as hell

What's your clock speed when using Snes_9X, if it's at 222, you could try going up to 333 to speed things up. If you use 333, not sure what else you could do. You can change frame rates but I am not sure if that'll help oyu out.
The only games that lag for me sometimes are the ones that were the graphically superior SNES games, like Killer Instinct and Donkey Kong Country. What RPGs are you into for SNES?
And with DGEN, is there any kind of special method of getting it to work? I installed it like every other homebrew I have ever used, but it boots past the PSP logo, then black screens and returns to the XMB. That was with the 1.50 version, so I am gonna try using the 1.0 non-kexploited version to see if I have better luck.
And have you tried the Master Sytem emulator? I downloaded it, but havent tried it out yet.

Some say this emulator is slower than previous versions: not true. I have both, you just have to set the settings correctly.
First of all, the default emulation settings are psp-accelerated with aprox software. Change this to psp-accelerated-with accu (Accurate) software.
This will make your games run ALOT faster. ie. in tyl.2c version, yoshis island (one of the slowest running games) runs now in tyl.4 at ~35 fps CONSTANT whereas in the previous, it only ran about 20, with all smoothing turned off, and was thus unplayable. Now, its actually playable.
So, again, change those default emulation settings to something like the above, and DONT turn sound emulation off, it slows things down (suprisingly).

yeh mate mario rpg is kinda slow but hey try pressing the l trigger then pressing start on the snes9x emulator and it should turn on the turbo on :)

the L button on the psp just hold down L and press start on the snes_9x TYL emulator and it should turn on the turbo :)

you dont have to pick them all.
but as was said
fiddle around with the settingsa little and you should see some better speeds.
i could never get mario rpg to a decent speed without it looking jerky though, might just be me

Just got DGEN working with the 1.0 version, it kicks the ass of PSP-Genesis. Halfway through Sonic 3 now and very happy.

I'm looking to put a SNES emulator on my PSP today, which one would anyone reccomend? I'm probably going to get this one, has anyone tried it? (Called SNES9xOptimised) See link for more info. http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/snes9xoptimised.shtml Please reccomend........!!!!!!
I'm assuming to install it i have to go back to 1.50 on DevHook and then run it while in 1.50 mode?
Also is it OK to talk about SNES Roms in here because i hear certain ROMS are legal!
