I've never had a problem with Nero, but for some reason now every time I try to add a video file to make a DVD it tells me "Unable to insert (insert file name)". I try to play a video file on Nero Showtime and I only get audio, no video. Anyone that could help me with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Hi Puresugar
Which version of Nero are you using? Like Nero 7.0.8.2 or 6.6.0.18.
Anything chnage pc wise since this starting happening?

An uninstall, run the clean tool for the version of have then install the version again may help.

I'm using an older version of Nero for sure. I know the disc says Rev. 5.70W so I assumed it was version 5.7

Anywho, I attempted to install version 7 and that's when this all started happening. When I tried using 7, it wouldn't read my DVD drive, it kept trying to record to my hard drive. After 7 failed me, I decided to go back to my origional version. I got rid of 7 with clean tools and put my older version back on and that's when this started happening.

Ok - check the version. In smart start look in the right hand corner - you should see an icon w/ a flame in it. Click on that. It will list your version #.
Then unintall again - and run the clean tool. Depending on the vesion depends on the clean tool - here's a link with the different versions:

After you run the clean tool reboot then run a registry cleaner. Here's a free one - http://ccleaner.com

Install Nero again and see if this helps any.

If you are using Nero 6 - install this version:
Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2 (recode & vision)
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
