I'm going to attempt to describe this best I can, any information that will lead to a soluton that I may leave out please, let me know.

I aquired a SimpleTech 40 gig external hard drive a while back. Unfortanly, I didn't get the software with it. I researched what the software was for and it seems it's just encryption software. So that rules out that, that is the problem.

I've got about 20 GB worth of data on it mostly movies, games and music. I've got all folders organized in catagories like: Games, Movies, Music, Pictures, ect. In which there are sub-folders of two main folders.

Everything works perfect on it except for the Movies folder and it only has a problem with my computer. When I use it on another computer running Windows XP Home I don't have this problem. But when I use it with my computer, running Windows XP Media Center it has problems, here is the problem on my computer:

When I open the Movies folder I can see all files. But after about 10-20 seconds of having the folder open I get an error prompt about "Microsoft Data Execution Prevention". It states that it will close becasue of this. I click OK then get another error prompt: "Dr Waston has encountered a problem and needs to close". I click OK and Windows reloads as if I am logging on again.

Now, this only happens with the Movies folder. All the others are fine! And it only happens on my computer. I've tried it on two other computers, the one stated above running Home and another running XP Pro. I've scanned for viruses with about every antivirus program I can think of and all come up clean.

Like to know if anyone could diagnose this problem and help with a solution? If I left anything out that may help, ask please.
