Whats the main difference between CSO and ISO i'm guessing they are just made with different programs but is there any major differences? =S something i've always wondered.
Firmware - 1.0 > 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 1.5 > 2.6 > 1.5
I make my own signatures, isn't that an amazing and boring fact for me to put here? Don't PM me with an answer...well you could, give me something to talk about or you would probably be completely rude about the matter....just one more dot? ok ..... .

Yes, you can convert a CSO back to an ISO, but the size will get bigger.

You cant unless your ripped the iso manually then converted it to cso to make it like 20mb smaller , decompressing the cso to an iso file will probably always make it bigger maybe not by much if you did like i said and manually ripped it or something

Yes, decompressing a cso back to an iso WILL make it bigger, thats how compression/decompression works!!!!

no! u can change it to ISO by the following
1)go to control panel/folder options/view/
and go to hide extensions of known type of file disable it (there should b no tick on it wen u disable it )
2)Go to where u have saved the CSO and rename it to (like say the name of cso is psp-gis.cso)
3) rename the cso to psp-gis.iso then it will prompt do u want 2 change the ext. then accept it u will have ISO sames size as the CSO. and u can compress it once again dependin on the game if it can b compressed twice or not

this sounds like utter bull, why wouldn't anyone else have figured this out since the psp was cracked? i understand your concept, but can u do that to say a single zip file? well you can but then u have to keep unzipping it x amount of times, and i have a feeling that devhook isn't created to do an extravigant amount of decrypting when playing the file, and to anyone trying this, don't delete your originals until your sure it works flawlessly, don't wanna waste more time getting another copy of your original.

What you are suggesting is like saying that you could convert an AVI to mpg just by changing the file extension. It doesn't work that way.
I mean, a dax file is also a compressed iso, but you can't just change the file extension from .dax to .cso and have it work with Devhook.

I know you can do it like changing a text file to a dat file, but cso->iso I really don't think will work.

Ok Sparsh, you give it a go and let us know how it goes. I really don't wanna make a backup copy of my iso and spend time compressing and renaming an iso twice when i'm pretty sure it won't work.
