I have a difficult time getting my Somy DivX capable DVD player from seeing a list of the various DivX films I have burned on a DVD disc. Can anyone reccomend a program that will help me put a menu on each disc.

Is the player Ultra certified? If not such a menu won't work anyway.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't know what Ultra Certified means and unfortunately I can't seem to locate the service manual.

I can howerever play DivX disc's from dawn to dusk The problem is that I can't list out all the DivX I have burned onto each disc. If you can advise me of a menu program then I could try it out and see if my plyter is U;tra.

just a quick question i hope im not insulting your intelligence with this q but you havnt burnt them as a data disc have you? coz wen u say a list lyk how many movies have you got on one disc?

Yes....I have burnt DivX files as Data.........usually I use Nero.

The average film is about 700 Megs and I burn 4 or 5 to a DVD disc.

In the past I have been converting and burning films as regular Video_TS files,1 per disc and then burning 4 or 5 to another disc as data. (as kind of a back up) It is only recently that I realized that my Sony DVP-NS52P player will play my Data discs. This is great as it saves me a mountain of encoding time ( usually 1.5 hours per film ) using Nero Vision.
The only problem is that on most of these Data discs their is no menu so I can't tell what's there without playing a bit. I admit this is not a colossal problem but it would be nice if I could include some kind of a menu on each disc that could be seen as soon as I put it in my Sony.

Most players offer a file browser. Good ones (or at least decent firmwares) offer ~36 characters for the file names.

Your player is only HT certified, so no DivX menus.

I have a Pioneer DV-383 which plays everything I have thrown at it.
I got it about 5-6 months ago for $120AUD. If I put a dvd I burned a tv series in DivX on (as a data disc) I can hit "home menu" and use disc navigation to slect my episode.
I would prefer to be able to make a DivX menu though if that is possible, like the ones I use to make for regular dvd format stuff.

Also only HT certified. You could have looked that up yourself though.

Once again, unless a player has Ultra certification, then it can't handle DivX menus. The player's default file browser is as good as it gets.
