I think you are just going to have to face the consequences and buy a new one and tell him what happened, he'll like you more and trust you with his PSP games again, as for getting it cheap I don't think you'll get it any cheaper than $30 from ebay or somewhere. You could try amazon, they usually have cheap prices.
