Hello everyone I have been backing up movies for quite sometime now and all of a sudden recently I have been having alot of problems. I was using memorex which sux so i took it back now i am using sony DVD+R. When I start to use DVD Decrypter to back up my movie it takes a few minutes to start actually coping the files. When it gets 100% done and it does its thing i think it syncoronizes everything and closes everything up that now takes like 7 mins to do just that. I have no clue what is going on I already checked to make sure the drive isnt in pio mode its running in DMA mode. anyone with any info would be very appricated. thanx

What's the make & model of the burner?
Firmware up to date?

For DMA mode - are you seeing something like 'ultra dma mode 4' under 'current transfer mode'?

hi binkie the model is sonyDRU 800A firmware is up to date it has ultra dma 5 under current transfer on the primary one

That sounds like your hard drive. Check the 'device 1' under the primary channel and check the dma mode for your devices in the secondary channel also.

Anything change pc wise since this started happening?

ok i just checked I have 2 primary channels and i have 2 secondary channels not sure if that is how it is supposed to be. well anywayz here is what i found out. this is all from device 1, the 1st primary is DMA if available and than under current transfer it says not applicable, 2nd primary is the same thing as the first one. The first secondary channel is Dma if available and than it says current transfer it says not applicable. Then on the 2nd secondary channel it says DMA if available and than under current transfer it says ultra DMA mode 2. No i havent changed anything on the pc since this problem started. sorry for it being a long post

ok sounds like you only have one drive (thinking the sony) connected on the secondary ide cable.
You can try uninstalling the secondary ide channel and rebooting - might help.
Another thing to do is set the Sony on the master connector on the secondary ide cable (switch the jumper to master also).

Next time you go to burn post the log from decryper (just press 'L')

hey sorry i didnt reply any sooner I went on vacation for a while than i started school. The problem is fixed thanx alot! all i did was switch it to the master and messed with some other settings and stuff and it works fine now thanx again
