SMs spoil the lens???

some people say SMs spoil the PS2 lenses.

i think good media based backups will not spoil lenses, and also other modchips will also cause lens problems same as SMs.

anybody can proove my belief?? anyone use SM for a year or more
without replacing the lens?

No, i dont thnk it spils the lens. i had mine for about a year and my laser is fine. im switchin to a mod-chip. woo

Neither Swap Magic nor a modchip will have any bearing on the condition of the lens. Lens wear & tear is increased by playing backups, regardless of what media type they're on, rather than store bought pressed discs.
Of course using good grade A media will be a lesser burden on the laser than using really crap media - which most likely won't boot anyway.
