hey all been read lots of posts tryin to get started. just need a little clarification.
I,ve got a psp version 2.1 and the motherboard is okay. I want to downgrade. I have both a good copy of GTA upgrade to 2.0 and a version that upgrades to 2.6. the reason I mention the 2.6 version is I belive from what I've read that I need to upgrade to 2.6 to downgrade. please tell me if I'm wrong also curious if you think Its okay to use the GTA to do this or should I get file from PSP hacks.
I started using the super noog sticky guide but found the link dead, know I'm not sure what to use as I belive there are many options. I've downloaded devhook ultimate instaler v1091, downgrader 2.5 - 2.6 enfull and emu_nstaller v0.12
which is the best/easiest, whats the diff.
sorry but I am a nobb.
lastly could someone clarify this statment and what it means for me, ( wait for someone with 1.5 to pass downdater and copy to root of memstick) I dont know anyone with psp.
I know its alot but if someone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.
P.S and yes I know I can't spell.

Firmware - 1.0 > 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 1.5 > 2.6 > 1.5
I make my own signatures, isn't that an amazing and boring fact for me to put here? Don't PM me with an answer...well you could, give me something to talk about or you would probably be completely rude about the matter....just one more dot? ok ..... . |

Holy crap dude that was fast thanks.
only problem is that thats the tut I mentioned the links to the software mentioned in the tut are dead, and I'm not sure what to use in there place.
thanks again though for the advice. I was alittle freaked about upgrading even thogh I thought it was necessary I.ve read things like friends don't let friend update.

wht the people mean by update is to update to 2.71 cause theres no coming back from tht FW, so chad u got 1.5 now?

can anyone help direct me to the proper eloader/ downdater files that I can use with the tutorial or point out which ones I've already downloaded to use. If there's a tutorial to downgrading on another site please advise. thanks in advance.

That is the easy downgrader. It walks you thru the whole downgrade process step by step. Now all you need to do is upgrade to 2.5 or 2.6 and get an unpatched copy of GTA:LCS. do you know how to tell the difference?

thanks dude I'll go check it out. and ya I've have two versions of GTA one upgrades to 2.6 and one 2.0. was thinking of using the GTA that upgrades to 2.6 to upgrade my 2.1 PSP before downgrading with 2.0 version. you think that is wise ot should I use download from PSP hacks to upgrade from?

use the eboots just to be on the safe side. it also doesnt have to be 2.6, most people say it makes a difference and its better but reality it doesnt make a difference. ive never used 2.6, only 2.5. never once have i had a brick either. when you use the eloader and doing the downgrade process make sure you use the GTA that needs 2.0 to run. the 2.6 one is patched but im sure u know that.

well, i recomened .45 but that's just me, i hate upgrading devhook all the time if it's not really worth it w/ new FW emulation or bug fixes. hell i went from .41D to .45 i just didn't wanna mess w/ the other crap.. both of them emulate 2.71 anyway.

thanks dude Ive already downloaded the set up for 4.6 but perhaps I'll go find 4.5 instead. the only reason I'm considering 4.6 is that I found a good sticky (step by step) instructiuons to load 4.6 which obviously a newb like me's gonna need.
one other thing I'm curious about. from what I've read I belive there's a big difference between PSP bought with original 1.5fw compared to mine which was 2.1 and then downgraded to 1.5. what I mean is limited as to games that can be played. I've got some games from mini nova not really sure which ones are good with devhook and which are specificly for homebrew or umdemulators. they don't realy clarify in the download info. also could'nt find any games listed for emulators like GBA which I think would be way cool.
anyways thanks again and please don't spank me I plan to do search regarding games and read up, I'm sure there's tons of post explaining exactly what I've asked I was just curious.
