I cant seem to back this game up to a dvd, the original is a cd format. I know the methods of backing up cd games to dvd's (extract, scanlite then rebuild on Nero) but its not working. Is it just cos this game can not be backed up to a dvd????

The wierd thing about the image being rebuilt on Nero is that it is only 12mb and the files are burnt in the wrong order....

no you cannot burn it onto a DVD.. its two different CD types.. its like playing a DVD in a car stereo.. the contents are different... it might be possible.. but from what i know.. no..

you definitely know this game cannot be backed up onto a dvd, Cos i cant back it up onto a cd, could be poor quality. So, any recommendations for the best CD-r to burn ps2 games onto?

CD-R quality doesnt matter, I've used loads of different CD-R & never had a problem.

If you want to make it into a DVD, then don't use Nero, use Sony DVD Generator 2.0, it's designed to make PS2 DVD's

also when i back the game uk onto a cd-r it says invalid ps2 disc, i use the cd swap magic 3.6 boot disc...

i have cd/dvd gen 1.5 is this the same program? also how do i create a dummy file with a large sector size, as i am trying to create an iml but it says "Location length is too short (less than 600000 sector)"

You can get 2.0 in backupscene's downloads section. Its better than 1.5 & doesnt need the patch to get rid of the upper sector size limit.

To make the disc bigger, click on the 'Layout' tab, right click the 1st file that you put into your compilation (the one's in black text), then move its Location to something higher. 600000 should be high enough. You've now created a false TOC. Much better than trying to create large dummy files.

EDIT: Remember to use DVDScan to make sure the media checks in the IOP, SYSTEM, and elf file are set to DVD if you're putting it on a DVD.
