Hey guys, last week I installed a new Asus A8V motherboard and an AMD 64 x2 4600 cpu. Everything worked fine until my computer would freeze and I would get this error message. I didn't think it was anything special until it happened repeatedly. My computer even restarted on it's own when I was downloading pictures from my digital camera. I took a picture of the screen with my camera; here's the link:

If anyone can tell me how to prevent this from reoccuring I would be grateful. I'm about to start doing some video editing and the last thing I want to deal with is my computer freezing while I'm working. Thanks in advance for taking the time to look at my thread.

I updated windows, but not the drivers for ASUS. I'll go to their site and download the available drivers.

Ok, I went to the link and downloaded the first Bios file. I think that is the update. But where can I find the driver to update my chipset?

Well, after checking, i'd say there is none, yet... i take it you do have the mobo install disc? that should have chipset drivers...

I'll put in the mobo disc and see what I can find. Also, I downloaded the bios file, but I don't know how to start it. It seems to be just a file without a set up or install utility.

Can you be a little more specific. I went to the BIOS and didn't see an option to install the file. Or at least I don't know which category to look under.

Did you update windows, or install it fresh with the new components?
I know that even though sometimes it works, you cant just throw a drive with different computers windows setup into a new build.
