hey i am very new to all this psp tekky stuff

I just pop a UMD in a play :)

But why would you want to downgrade your firmware?

i think i know is it because if the games like quake for psp only work on 1.5 or somthing ?

if so why carnt the poeple who made the game make it playable on updats over this ?

sorry i may be talking a load of rubish but could you help by awsering this ? :)

people want to downgrade because with version 1.5 u can play ISO's or backup versions of the games through your memory stick, also you can emulate later firmwares using devhook. firmwares higher than 1.5 have been patched so that hombrew wont work. Unless u have versio 2.0>2.6 u can run eloader with gta lcs which can run some homebrew.

so im very stupid then because i just downloadid and installed 2.80 2 days ago :(

can i not downgrade or do somthing ? i want to play quake

nope u can't downgrade 2.80 atm, but in the future, maybe.... but u will be waiting a long time...... if it happens

Your solutions are:

-Buy a modchip.

-Trade your PSP with a noob friend like you were.

Just don't get anything above 2.6. If its 2.6 or anything below it you can downgrade to 1.5. And make sure it doesn't have a ta-082 motherboard because those can't be downgraded.

but they can!!! well soon!!!! check out pspupdates Ookm had downgraded a 2.5 psp with the TA-082 mobo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if u want to play quake u can play it on 2.8fw if u have the umd any game that runs on lower fw will definately run on higher fw
