I have a perfect CD ripping setup: EAC. There is no other. :)
Just curious, is there a video equivalent? I.e., a program that reads the "sectors" multiple times to get a bit for bit perfect copy of the original DVD?
And, since I'm new at this, any good DVD ripping/burning FAQs out there?
I don't think the Audiophile mentallity from CD Ripping transfer over to DVD Ripping. With DVD ripping the major concern is to be able to Rip it. Most of us here use DVDDecrypter or DVDFab Decrypter.
I actually was thinking something similar in that it might not even be necessary:
CD ripping is almost an analog like thing, because it's an uncompressed data stream. But for DVD video, because it's compressed, with checksum's and the reconstruction of the original signal from the compressed data, that it might be a lot harder to have a mistake made.
Take a look at the guide section. There are various ways/programs to rip and encode DVD's. My favorite is DVDDecrypter with AnyDVD running in the background and compress with DVD Rebuilder + CCE.
It seems as though it's not so easy to get DVDDecryptor anymore? But If I look around some, I can find it? Any suggestions?
begin rant/ I can't believe that this stuff is illegal. I saw some blurbage that making copies for backup purposes is legal in the U.S., but distributing software that circumvents the copy protection on DVDs is illegal. Now *that* makes a lot of sense. /end rant
