Hi guys. I need your help,
1)USB socket of my external HD was broken, then I refixed it - solder it to made it tight. I didn't remove the 2.5 HD while solder that socket.
2)After USB socket is tight, external HD totally can not work when connect to computer
3)I try to remove 2.5 HD and installed to a new external HD casing. It work. When connect to computer was recognize as USB external storage. But then a message appeared that external storage can not work properly. After that message, the drive is not appear at My Computer, Windows Explorer and Status Bar. So that, there is no access to explore the drive.
4)Is my external HD already damage? Is it possible to recover data inside?
Please, help me...

it's hopefully just the external casing (enclosure that's fried); try mounting the hard disk (on it's own) internally in the PC ? (you may have to remove your CD/DVD drive and use it's cables or just unplug the cables from the CD/DVD drive and hook the hard drive to that...

It's a 2.5". You'll need an adapter for it to work on standard IDE.

But, try what creaky said. Get an adapter and see if it works directly attached to the PC.

oh yes, 2.5" hardisk. at external HD case (the old one, which broken) there is an adapter mount (means, need power source for work it). and at new one, there is no adapter mount (perhaps, power source supplied enough by USB cable). then, do i have to use external HD case with adapter as power source?
creaky's advice looks good, even rather complicated. ok, i'll try it.

i'd assumed pretty much all external discs were just normal standard 3.5" discs in a chassis; just need a cheapy adapter as DoubleDwn recommended, all depends how much you need that data back, at least if it was a standard hard drive you could pop discs in, grab data then re-attach CD/DVD drive
