hi all well i've decided to buy a psp and need a few questions answeredso here i go
1. if i go into an eb game store here (australia) and buy a new psp will i be able to run video's straight off a memory stick

2.will i be able to run games straight off a memory stick

cheers just need #1 clarified as i'm buying it mainly for some on the go gaming and a portable DivX player (i know i have to convert the files to mp4) and has anybody tried any good 4gb memory sticks from sandisk??

i got a 2gb sony memstick, so no. You want to buy anything with firmware 2.6 or below. Ask if you can have a look at the psp to see whether the motherboard is new or not aswell.

Most white ones are newer models...so dont bother with those if you want games from the memstick. All psp's can run vids off the memstick.

sandisk memsticks have faster read and write speeds then the sony ones, and are cheaper also. but the sony have a few MB's over the sandisk.

Do 4gb memsticks work with 1.5?? I heard that either them or the 8gb ones don't work. Gonna be pretty stuffed when u wanna load up devhook on 1.5 if it won't detect

the 8gb stick doesnt work on any psp ATM. sony hasnt released the new firmware that will allow 8GB sticks yet. but yea the 4Gb sticks work. I have a 4GB Datel HDD and it works with devhook also.

so if i go to the shop buy a psp any version i can just put a 4gb mem stick in and play movies i don't really care for copying the games at the moment as i want to play on the wifi network???

ja ull have no problems. i tried devhook on my 4GB HDD and concluded it works. that was for testing purposes. now that i know it works I mainly use my 4GB for mp3 and movies.

Ye just ask the store to see the PSP if they say no then walk out and go into another Games store.
As for 8GB memory stick that is some serious memory stick!!
