How do you connect your PSP to your car stereo system???

I know how to do it with a cd player adapter. But my problem is that I have to drive my sisters car for a while and it doesn't even have a tape player for the cd player adapter to work. Is there anyway to play your PSP through the stereo without a tape player???

your best bet is a car stereo with an auxiliary input then you can plug the psp into that from the headphone jack.

I dont agree, I have a purpose built PSP FM transmitter mounted in my car with power from the ciggy lighter and it works like a charm. The whole setup cost about £30.

it might work like a charm but like lilfree said the sound quality is not that great. hook it up to a real stereo system and youll see what i mean. you dont get the same sound quality as if it were to be hardwired into the deck. plus there is interference and with FM thats alot. And any electronic device has to accept incoming interference, even if it can destroy it.

Sound quality is always good, I don't listen to the radio so I just took my ariel off the car and I don't get any interference.
But each to their own I guess :)

Well when it comes to car stereo systems I know what Im talkin about. Just like the psp for the most part. I build competition level stereo systems. In my truck I can shake a cars mirror's being parked behind it. Not to mention alot more. But ya the fm transmitter works. But not as good as the psp being hardwired directly into the deck from say an auxiliary input.

Hmm, well I think we may be coming from different prespectives when we talk about sound quality.
I'm not trying to deafen anyone, I just like to listen to a bit of music when I drive.
As I said, each to their own.

ja thats true. if ur just wanting to listen to it then the fm transmitter is the way to go. but if you're also looking for sound quality too aux. input is a better choice.

one word. MP3. Or maybe u want to play a game with some external speakers. or me i have plugged mine into the car deck when camping and then me and the wifey will watch a movie before bed and once again external speakers.

ok but if its to play mp3 why not buy a cd player that is compatible wiith mp3 then just burn the mp3's to a cd?
And watching the movie bit would be cool having external speakers

because you might not have the money for a mp3 cd player but u got a psp. even playing games is cool. sometimes i unplug my surround sound system thats hooked to my pc and hook it to my pc. you would not realize how much more fun games are having a good sound system.

I thought most cd players these days are mp3 compatible
Having surround sound why playing a game would be cool

Cos for me, its much easier to have a large selection of albums on a memory card where you can choose what you want to listen to without having loads of CD's in your car and listening to tracks in a linear fashion.
But again, its what you're after that matters.

there is also the option of an FM Modulator instead of Transmitter,
in this case a little installation effort will be required since you need to bridge the car's antenna with it. But in this case believe the sound quality will be higher than the one you will get with the FM Transmiter.
keep in mind this was the method used to connect a CD changer to a stereo with out aux input, back in the old days

fm transmitter is not all that clear, however with the new bluetooth adapter for the psp, and of course ure cd unit for the car has to have BT as well and its crystal clear,,,
i have the psp BT and the pioneer unit with BT and its crystal clear

For now I just use a simple tape that goes into the headphone jack. It works well yet for some reason if I have the play button connected to the headphone area and the tape into that...it just pops out the tape thinking it finished already. *shrug* I just have my psp on my passenger seat and use the top bumpers to change songs. Works fine.
Sorry for the poor explanation...its 8am and I have no better way to explain it heh.

That only offers 3 wavebands to transmit on, if you go the FM transmitter route you need to get one that allows you to broadcast accross the whole FM frequency otherwise you run the risk of interference.
