Hi,

upgrading to hi-def,narrowed it down to a panasonic plasma tv (42") or sony bravia lcd (40") although I would prefer the panny.

Have any members experienced any screen burn issues with long term video game useage on there plasma tv's.

My 360 cant wait to go hi-def.

cheers

ive read various reviews about the newer plasmas not being so much prone to burn ins as the older ones due to built in screen savers and watermarks on the tv. i personally still am not convinced and i would go with lcd, but thats just personal preference for right now. if the logo is always on he same spot, i would think eventually it would be suceptible (I know the word is mis-spelled) to burn in´s.

Check on page 2 for information on burn ins. They say with the newer technology, with slightly adjusting the pixels, that burn ins are prevented from happening.

If you really want a plasma, just get a warranty that covers it.

Go with the Panasonic. If you have never burnd-in your old CRT then you won't burn-in you new Plasma set. At the store I work at we hook up video game systems to our plasma set for days sometimes even weeks at a time.

Don't forget that most next gen video games and systems also have built-in systems to reduce the chance of burn-in (i.e. Screen saver and Auto dimming)

ok,well i went with plasma cuz it's cheaper, alot cheaper in fact...
it's a 42" samsung,a rather new model...and it unfortuanatly gets burn in effect from even just watching tv,although i have found no effect from playing my 360...mmm but anyway, yes mine does get burn in,but luckily it's not permanent, first of all,i notice a burn in,then i just start watching another channel for 10 min and the burn in is gon again...just like that,so it's all good, but besides that it has a snow picture and a contrast one which will take burn in away, which i don't need to use anyway,so personnaly i have no problems with screen burn in...
