Does anyone know if you need a firmware 1.5 psp to run Devhook?

What are the advantages and disadvantages to a 2.0 firmware psp to a 1.5 psp with Devhook?

Devhook will not work on a firmware 2.00
It only works on a 1.5

If I want to run Homebrew do I need a UMD copy of GTA or can it just be the ISO data of GTA?

My computer doesn't have a card reader, is it possible to download the contents of a memory stick (or someone's memory stick) to make it run homebrew, or can I still use the psp's usb connection do do all this?

well if you need gta to run homebrew more then likely you cant use a iso since it will show up as corrupted data and with a usb you can just drag the files from the psp to your pc

you dont need GTA to load homebrew unless you're loading it on 2.5 or 2.6. in conjuction with the unpathced version of GTA you will also need the eloader. but if you have GTA you might as well downgrade and then u get full homebrew capabilities as 2.5 and 2.6 with the eloader/GTA can only load a partial list of homebrew. you can also use the usb connection to put files on the psp, whether it be homebrew, photos, movies, mp3's, what have you. the only way to load devhook is on 1.5 firmware.

I don't quite understand what you mean hex.

Anyway, I don't want to use Devhook because I don't want to downgrade my psp (yet).

Since I don't have a card reader, is there another way I can get my psp to run homebrew?

Does anyone think that getting the psp emulator on my computer and then creating outside data and transfering it to my memory stick would work?

he means that if you have a unpatched gta lbd you might as well downgrade that way you can play iso's as well as homebrew games and to play hombrew games with gta your going to need eloader

my advice downgrade and use devhook that way you stay on 1.5 but can go to 2.7 and back

u also dont need a card reader. thats why the psp has a mini usb port type-b built into the top of it. and comes with a usb data cable. its for direct connections to your psp. plug the cable into your psp and then your pc. find usb connection in the XMB and hit X.
