I have a 2.6 FW and all I want to do is be able to play PSP games without the actual UMD. I already have a few ISOs but I do not know where to go from here.
Can you please just tell me what i need to do in general. I don't need all the steps, just tell me what I need and what programs I need in order to do all of this.
Also, is devhook basically a loader that helps you switch from a higher fw to a lower one whenever you want? or is there more to this program. I'm really new at this and would appreciate any help. Sorry if this is repetitive.
Well, with 2.60 there is a UMD loader currently in beta stages, so they're's no possibility of ISO loading on 2.6 yet, but if you bought your PSP with a 2.01, not a 2.5 or 2.6, then you can downgrade using the easy downgrader (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/605 via the eloader. Get the eloader from fanjita.org and you can use it as a savegame for GTA that will load a program loader menu. Load the downgrader and you're all set, but make sure you don't have a new motherboard. If you look inside your UMD drive with the PSP facing you you should see a little bit of the green motherboard under all the components. If you don't see any writing there you're good to go. If you do, wait a little bit, Ookm is working on a workable downgrader for newer motherboards. Once your done with that download the Devhook Ultimate Installer from psp-hacks, I forget which file number and install it. Run devhook, and make sure your ISO is in a folder called ISO in the root of your memory stick and the ISO will play. Hopefully this explains everything, if not feel free to PM me for more info.
