If you recently bought a psp first check witch version it has.
You can check this by doing the following: go to settings. go to system settings than go to system information. Check your system firmware. It is important to know what firmware you have.

If it is saying 1.5 than move to number 4
If it is saying 1.51 or 1.52 than update to 2.0.You can find the update 2.0here for US systems or japans psp. It doesnt matter only the 0 and the x functions are switched
For jap systems download the 2.0 update

Place the update on your memory stick in X:PSP/GAME/UPDATE do not forget caps lock(if the folder isnt already there make it)
If it is saying 2.00 than move to number 3 or if you wish to play homebrew on 2.0 move to 5

If you get stuck half way through downgrading just ask here and I'm sure you will get an answer asap.
DOWNGRADING TO A 1.5
Here is the guide to downgrade from 2.0 - 1.5:
This will ONLY WORK on a 2.0. Not a 2.01, 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7
1. You need to unzip the files MPHDowngrader.zip and EBOOT_1.50.zip. Use a program such as WinRAR, 7Zip, or WinZIP (check Google). Once they are unzipped, you're ready to begin.
2. Set up a USB connection with your PSP and your computer.
3. Once the connection is set up, open up My Computer and browse to the removable disk that is your PSP. You'll need to set a few things up here.
4. When you first double click to open up the PSP on your computer, you'll be in what's called the root menu. There will be a PSP folder showing if you are in the right place.
5. Copy over to your PSP the following files to THIS location in the root folder...NOT in the PSP folder or any other folder. Index.dat and h.bin should both be in your root directory.
This is what it should look like...
6. Once this is done, open up the PSP folder and then open up the Photo folder. Here, you will copy overflow.tif over, keeping it in the Photo directory and not a sub directory.

7. Now, go back to the PSP directory and go into the Game directory. If there is not already, create a folder called UPDATE. It MUST be called UPDATE and nothing else.
8. Open up the new UPDATE folder and then copy EBOOT.PBP into this folder from your computer. Once all of this is done, you're ready to downgrade. So far, so good.
This is where the 1.5 eboot update should now go...
Double check that you followed the above instructions before continuing.
Good.
9. Now, disconnect the USB connection from the computer and plug the AC adapter into the PSP. As with all upgrades, you must have a certain percentage of battery life as well as the AC adapter plugged in, or this will not work.
10. Go to the Photo icon on your PSP and scroll through the pictures to get to overflow.tif. You do NOT have to press anything. It will start automatically. Two strings of letters/numbers will appear. This is normal and good.
Your PSP screen should now appear something like this...
11. Wait AT LEAST 30 SECONDS and then turn off your PSP by holding the power button up until it fully shuts down. Then, start your PSP again.
12. You will now go over to the Game icon and scroll down to memory stick. Select it and you should see the 1.5 update.
Now select the update...
13. Select it and start it up. Go through it as you've done before with your 2.0 update and follow the prompts. When the update reaches 99% it will crash and show an error. THIS IS OKAY. DO NOT PANIC. Once again press the power switch up until it fully turns off.

14. Now, turn the PSP back on. You will get another error. Just press the "O" button and it will restart after rebuilding the system data. Then just set it up as you did when you first got your PSP and you have a brand new 1.5 PSP. Be responsible with it.

So lets get started there are two ways to downgrade your psp
This is the first way you need somebody with a 1.5 psp to do this step for you
1.5 User

Once downloaded
1) Copy the folders downhelper and downhelper% from the folder 1.50 HELPER folder to /PSP/GAME/ in your memstick.
2) Obtain the 1.50 update and put it in /PSP/GAME/UPDATE in your memstick. Get it here ( http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/8 )
3) Init the downhelper program.
4) It will dump your flash and some files from the updater eboot to the memstick.
5) After that, the program will exit. You can now delete the updater from /PSP/GAME/UPDATE
6) You'll notice that you have a new folder in the root of your memstick called "DOWNDATER".
7) That's the folder you'll have to send to a 2.50/2.60 to let him test the downgrade.
2.5 / 2.6 User
Download for 2.5 / 2.6 (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/598)
Once downloaded
1) Copy the folder the DOWNGRADER/2.50/DOWNDATERTEST if you have 2.50 or DOWNGRADER/2.60/DOWNDATERTEST if you have 2.60 to /PSP/GAME/ in your memstick
2) Wait for someone with 1.50 to pass you a folder called DOWNDATER and copy it to the root of your memstick.
3) Init GTA and the eLoader (Search if you do not know how to install the eLoader)
4) In the eLoader menu, choose the downdater test. WARNING: the program won't output any display and any warnings, it will init the downgrader process inmediatelly.
5) You'll see that your memstick flashing. That means that your psp is being flashed from the memstick.
6) You won't see any type of output in the screen (this is for safety). When the memstick finishes of flashing, WAIT at least a minute, and then reinit your psp by holding the power button.
7) That's all. If all went right, you'll have 1.50. If it went less good, you'll still have 2.50/2.60. If all went wrong, you'll have a bricked psp(except in the case you have the modchip) Remember that you have accepted that risk.
8) If your PSP is showing up as v2.01, this is fine. Just use Wab Version Changer and change it to v1.50
The second way of downgrading is using the easy downgrader (As the title says this is the easist way)

2) And thats all i can say really run the easy downgrader on your computer and follow the onscreen instructions

Step 20. Gently turn on your psp. some crap will come up in a load of languages. (again, no screenshot.)
Something about the settings being screwed up. ignore that. your psp is lying to you because sony want to steal more money from you.
press X or O.
The psp should restart itself. and now, it will ask for some settings, time, date, nickname, all that crap.
does it say something like, "to start, you need to update system software"? if so, take this logic into equation.
you have GTA in the UMD drive.
Gta Requires 2.00
If you need to update to use it then that must mean you are BELOW 2.00

UPGRADING
Now... It's time to tell you how to upgrade!
Here is my guide to upgrade:
1. Download the eboot file you want. For example if you wanted the 2.60 firmware, download the 2.60 eboot. Download it from the downloads section on this website.
2. Plug in your PSP via a USB cable.
3. Make a folder called "UPDATE" in the "GAME" folder on your PSP and make sure they are all in caps. This is where the eboot will be going.
4. Drag the 2.60 eboot into your "UPDATE" folder on your PSP.
5. Now unplug your PSP and plug in your PSP charger.
6. Go to the memory stick under "GAME" on your PSP and you should see the PSP 2.60 update. Select this update.
7. Now follow the on-screen instructions with your PSP charger in.
8. Once the update has finished, restart your PSP.
9. Now go to Settings > System Settings > System Information
10. Double check that the System Software is the 2.60 firmware (or whatever you updated to)
Now your DONE!

F.A.Q for downgrading 2.0 - 1.5
1. When I get to the photo section on my PSP, it just freezes and turns off!
Answer: Make sure the PSP battery has at least 75% charge. If it does and it keeps happening, leave the PSP on, with the charger in for around 15 - 20 mins.
2. I can't find the overflow.tif folder in my PSP?
Answer: When downloading the overflow.tif file and transfering it to your PSP, make sure you have your Nortan Anti-Virus protection off.
3. What if I brick my PSP?
Answer: You will not brick your PSP if you download the downgrading tools from this website. If your stupid enough to download it from another website and you do brick your PSP don't come here asking how to fix it. Buy a new PSP or a new motherboard.
4. I have done everything correct and when I go to the 1.5 downgrade (under GAME>MEMORY STICK) and select the downgrade it says that I do not need to upgrade as I have 2.00 or higher.
Answer: Make sure you havn't skipped any of the steps, make sure there is no UMD in the drive, Have your charger in and make sure you have 75% battery or higher.
5.OK, I have downgraded perfectly but my screen has gone a differant colour and I can't change it!?

Well congrats on your 1.5, it?s by far the best firmware because you can do a lot of awesome stuff with it. The first things you should try are basic homebrew games, and then you can move on to more complicated stuff. Homebrew games are games made by coders and programmers. They are basic but some are very fun.
Before you start downloading stuff you should get WinRAR from www.rarlabs.com, it?s like WinZIP. Many files you download will be in .rar format which WinZIP doesn?t support. Also get SeiPSPtool from here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/110 Its a very useful tool, go ahead and extract it somewhere convenient, there will be a file inside called SiePSPtool.exe, I recommend you make a shortcut to this on your desktop because you will use it a lot..
Since Sony started trying to block homebrew, for 1.5 there needs to be two folders with an ?eboot.pbp? file in each one. (Eboot.pbp files are the files that the PSP reads, kind of like an .exe program for PC) Now this sounds complicated but it really isn?t. It?s much harder for 2.0 and up because of the further developments Sony has made to block stuff.
I?ll start off with homebrew games because they are the most simple.
Homebrew Games:
rRootage:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/261 rRootage is a shooter game, once you get the hang of it, its very addictive. rRootage already comes ready to run on your PSP so it?s very simple. When you get the file you open it with WinRAR then go to the folder that says 1.5 inside the rRootage_PSP 1.4 folder, there should be two folders in there one should say rRootage and the other rRootage%. The folder with the % is the dummy folder that the PSP loads and the folder without is the real folder that contains the real data. You put both of these files in the GAME folder in your PSP folder on your memory stick. Now the program is ready to run and you can play it but it will show the icon for the game in your game menu along with a ?corrupt data? icon. Now this icon isn?t really corrupt (you need this icon ? DO NOT DELETE IT) but it is pretty annoying. Run seiPSPtool and click on the button in the menu on the left that says ?corrupt icon? make sure your PSP is connected and that rRootage and rRootage% are in the GAME folder, make sure your PSP's drive letter is selected in the box that says ?PSP device? then type in ?rRootage? in the box that says ?Folder name? then click ?rename?. This automatically renames the folders of the program so that the corrupt icon does not show up in the menu. You can use this method for any program for your PSP to hide the corrupt icon, just type in the name of the program instead of ?rRootage?.
Now the two folders in your PSP should look something like:
?rRootage _? and ?rroota~1%? They look confusing but the file with the % is still the dummy folder and the one without is the real data folder.
Supertux:

It is set up just like rRootage, just open it with WinRAR, open the folder that says Supertux, 1.5, then there are the two folders you put in the game folder (?Supertux? :Supertux%?) put those in your GAME folder then rename them with seiPSPtool to hide the corrupt icon. It?s pretty easy so far.
Metroid Planets:

It?s a Metroid game. Just like the others put the two folders in the GAME folder, rename them with seiPSPtool.
Laserix2:

It?s a puzzle game. Copy to game, run seiPSPtool.
Zorblocks:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/293 It?s a puzzle game. Install it same as the others except this one is already renamed to hide the corrupt icon so all you have to do is put it in the game folder.
There are plenty of other homebrew games; those are just some games I felt you should try, and a good way to start with PSP homebrew.
Now I?ll move on to emulators. They are basically the same as homebrew games.
Emulators:
NesterJ (Nintendo)
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/364 This is the first file that isn?t already in two files, ready to run on your PSP that I have told you about. This one is a little different. This time create a new folder (call it anything but it should probably be NesterJ since that is the name of the program). Put that folder somewhere convenient on your PC where you know where it is, then extract all the files from the NesterJ file you download into the folder you just created. Now run seiPSPtool but instead of clicking the corrupt icon you usually click on, you?re going to leave it on the first screen that pops up (the green icon that says export eboot). This is where you convert the unpatched ?eboot.pbp? file into the two files to run on 1.5. First make sure your PSP is connected to your PC. In this case type NesterJ where it says ?name?, then where it says PBP file, click the button next to it that says ??? then click ?whole folder? and select the folder you just created and extracted the files to. Make sure your PSP?s drive letter is selected where it says ?PSP unit?, check the box that says ?Hide corrupted image?? Then finally click ?Generate? and ?Export to 1.5 PSP?. That creates the two folders, and hides the corrupt icon for you. You also use this method for any other program.
RIN (game boy)
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/333 You do this the same as NesterJ, extract the files to a folder on your PC called RIN, run seiPSPtool, type RIN, select the whole folder RIN, click ?Hide corrupted??, Generate, export to 1.5 PSP. Put the game boy ROMs in the folder without the %.
SnesPSP_TYL (Super Nintendo)
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/488 This one is already in two folders, open it with WinRAR and go to the folder that says Kxploit_Ready, inside is snes9xTYL and snes9xTYL%, put those in the game folder and rename them with seiPSPtool like you did with the homebrew games. As usual put ROMs in the folder without the %.
These are just some of the emulators you can run for PSP.
Now of course since you have the emulator running you need to get some ROMs (games for the emulator) to run on it, just Google search for them.
If you can?t find a specific ROM just Google search ?[ROM name] [system] ROM download?
Example: Chrono Trigger SNES ROM download
That will direct you to a download of Chrono Trigger which is a SNES (Super Nintendo) game.
Once you download the files then extract them to the emulator folder in your GAME folder without the % sign (the real folder, not the dummy folder)

Since 2.0 is hacked you are able to play some homebrew.not all homebrews will work because the psp is not using his kernal mode (this is because the loader works trough the photo menu).this is need for iso loaders so on 2.0 you cant run iso's.you can get the loader here http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=93 read the instructions carefully before posting something on the forums.

What is Device Hook?
Device Hook (or DevHook for short) is a Homebrew App for PSPs running the 1.5 Firmware.
DevHook is used to play your backed-up Game ISOs from your memory stick, or your UMDs
It can run every game up to date.
DevHook also emulates the latest firmwares, including 2.71, giving you the ability to use the newest firmware perks!
Web Browser, RSS Feed, LocationFree Player, Windows Media Audio (WMA) File support, Flash Player! All are functional!
There is no risk in bricking your PSP either, as everything runs off your memory card!

Chaos Zero's DevHook 0.4x ISO Tutorial!
1. Intstall DevHook 0.44, either by downloading the Ultimate Installer or ZIP packages.
2. Put your ISO or CSO file in the ISO folder on the MS Root (ms0:\)
Note: Delete the "Change This To Your .ISO" file in the ISO folder after install.
3. Load up DevHook 0.44 by clicking the icon under game.
4. Let it load until the DevHook menu appears. Press O. It will also prompt you to do so.
5. Change 'Target ISO' to your ISO.
6. PSP will 'restart' and load the target ISO. To simply load the 2.71 XMB/Firmware, choose the ISO but have no UMD in the drive!
<< !!! YOU MUST USE A GAME UMD OR THE SAMPLE DISC. NO MOVIE UMDs WORK. !!! >>
To change ISO/CSOs 2.71, press 'Home' + 'Right Trigger' or 'Home' + 'Left Trigger'.
This will cycle through the ISOs and CSOs in the ISO folder.
You will also see what ISO you are on at the bottom of the screen.
To go back to 1.5 either hard reboot the PSP by holding Power for 3 seconds
or Start a game and press 'Home'. Highlight 'Yes', Hold 'LeftTrigger'+'RightTrigger'+Up and press X.
DevHook will boot EVERY game up to date. It will also boot 1.5 games fine.
There is also no need to change PRX files like in previous versions.
Leave all your ISO's 'untouched'
ISOs edited for MPHGL use will not work.
Some older 1.5 or 2.0 games may run better on an older loader.
GTA:LCS for example is very laggy with DevHook.
I suggest DAXZISO 0.6x or DevHook Evolved.

Chaos Zero's DevHook 0.4x UMD Tutorial!
1. Intstall DevHook 0.4x using either the Ultimate Installer or ZIP packages.
2. Put the UMD you want to play in your drive.
3. Load up DevHook 0.44. When you see DevHook's menu, press O.
4. Change the following settings:
UMD Select: UMD Disc
5. Press 'Start'.
6. The 2.71 XMB Menu will load before launching the game.
Quiting the game will return you to the 2.71 xmb menu.

DevHook 0.46 Flashing Tutorial
First of all, what is the flashing?
The "flashing" is copying some of DevHooks files onto your PSP's memory, aka writing to Flash.
Is it safe?
Some people don't like messing with the PSP's internal memory, but it is safe.
Some percations:
1. Don't do this while you are, quote, "Under the Influence" of any substance.
2. Have your battery charged atleast to 2 bars or have to AC adapter plugged in.
So what are the advantages of storing these files on flash?
By storing the selected files on Flash, it provide much quicker load times.
You can also always have your settings, like wallpaper, RSS Channels, WiFi Connections, PSP's name.
Even if you completly unistall DevHook, or use a different memory stick, your settings will be saved!
Can I keep my old 2.71 settings when I do this?
Yes, copy the folder under dh\271\ called "flash1"
After installing the new 0.46, return that folder.
Ok, so how do I go about doing this?
First, Install DevHook 0.46 either by means of the Ultimate installer, full pack, or other source.
Now load DevHook by clicking on the icon under game.
1a. If you haven't changed the wallpaper, or PSP name yet since you installed it, do this first:
1b. Load up the 2.71 firmware like you usually would.
1c. Change all the settings to your own, eg change the PSP Name, wallpaper, add RSS Feeds, etc.
1d. Then quit DevHook and return to the 1.5 menu.
2. Load DevHook (again for some)
3. When DevHook's menu comes up, select "FLASH ROM"
4. Select "flash1: < ms0: install configfile"
5. You will see the warning and information.
6. Press and hold your circle button for 5 seconds.
7. DH will start working, then stop and ask you to press any button, returning you back to the menu.
8. Now select "flash0: install font"
9. Again, You will see the warning and information.
10. Press and hold your circle button for 5 seconds.
11. DH will start working, then stop and ask you to press any button, returning you back to the menu.
12. And again, select "flash0: install kd/resource"
13. Press and hold your circle button for 5 seconds.
14. All done! All your setting are always on your PSP.
To remove these settings at anytime, slect the flash0 or flash1 remove all devhook files.

CISO/CSO Tool Tutorial by Chaos Zero
To use an easier compressor try [Danny_Kay1710's Compressor]

Move the folder called 'tool' from the 0.41b update to C:\
Move the iso you want compressed into the tool folder.
Open Windows Start Menu -> Run...
Type "Command"
When Command pops up, input "cd\tool" and press enter.
Next, type in "ciso 1 NAME.iso NAME.cso" and press enter.
A new fill called NAME.ciso will be created. You may rename this back to NAME.ISO if you wish!
Of course replacing NAME with your iso name.
NO SPACES IN THE ISO NAME!!
eg. 'Splinter Cell.iso' must be changed to 'SplinterCell.iso'.
The number 1 stands for compression level; 1 being quick/larger, 9 being slow/Smaller.
Advanced; Format is: [ciso] [Compression Level 1-9] [Original ISO name] [New ISO Name]
To Uncompress cso file type "ciso 0 NAME.cso NAME.iso" instead. Notice the '0'?
NAME.cso is the compressed file, NAME.iso is what you want the uncompressed version to be called.
Again, The Danny_Kay tool is easier to use.

Terms:
DevHook- Device Hook, an PSP App made by BOOSTER.
XMB- Cross Meda Browser. It is where the Settings, PHOTO, VIDEO, GAME, etc are; The first thing you see.
222MHz- CPU clock speed. Default running speed.
333MHz- CPU clock speed.

Q: I just installed the X5 Web Portal now how do I use it?e
A: Launch the PSP using DevHook into the 2.71 firmware.
Go to the Browser and type "file:/x5/index.html" as the address.
Q. What is the 'COMMON' Directory?
A. COMMON refers to a folder inside your PSP folder.

Q: Where is the memory card root?
A: If you connect your PSP to a computer, It's the first place you see.
Contains th PSP folder.
Q: What is ms0:\?
A: Another way of saying the memory card root.
Q: I'm using DevHook 0.44 in 333MHz mode, but it just freezes! Why?!
A: DevHook 0.44 does not currently support 333MHz. Use 222MHz instead.
Q: Does WiFi work? (Adhoc and Infrastructure)
A: Yep.
Q: Is there a way to run games in 333Mhz?
A: Yes. Press Home+Select while in the XMB.
Q: Where do I but my ISOs?
A: Create an folder called "ISO" in your memory card's root and put them there.
Q: Can I make the .ISO's smaller without removing anything?
A: Make it a .CSO using the tools provided by Danny_Kay1710/BOOSTER
Q: Can I use Homebrew while in 2.71?
A: Nope. Restart your PSP to 1.5 to use hombrew again.
Q: How do I go back to 1.5?!
A: Hold your power button up for approx. 3 seconds then turn it back on.
Q: Will this damage my PSP?
A: Not a chance
Q: I can't even launch DevHook! It says Corrupted Game Data!
A: DevHook only works on the 1.5 firmware. If you have a 2.5/2.6 PSP without the TA-082 board, you can downgrade. 2.0/2.1 users can also downgrade. 2.7x PSPs are currently out of luck.
Q: Can I change the DevHook icon?
A: Sure! Visit [here] to grab a new one.
Q: Can I change where the DevHook Icon is? I want it at the top of my list!
A: Use Sei PSP Tool. It also moves the 'corrupted data'.
Q: Can I delete the Corrupted Data under my Game Menu?
A: No. You can move it to the bottom of your list using Sei PSP Tool though!

Devhook didn't work for me before because of my fake 2GB stick but now it is. I don't know if any of you guys can get this to make devhook work for you. But I will tell you exactly what I did.
*Important* - Backup your whole memory stick to your PC to a folder on the root of your hard disk.
[1] Tried Devhook 0.41d, didn't work again.
[2] Connected PSP to PC to delete ISO , and there was a corrupt folder on there, I couldn't delete. Windows said run chkdsk
[3] Went to "My Computer", "G:\" (my psp) Right-click and scanned stick through properties, with both options checked ("Auto fix file system errors", "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors"). This deleted a lot of files off my memory stick. So I copied them across again from my backup.
[4] Went into PSP and it said I only had 300mb left on memory stick, so I was like oh shit it got the values wrong again, so I formatted the memory stick through the PSP twice.
[5] Now I had to copy the files from my backup on to the PSP again. But I had done it so many times I decided to make things easy for my self and copy through MSDOS.
I wrote this code into a text file and saved it as copy.bat

i guess I'll explain xcopy for the noobs. Xcopy works like this -
xcopy [source] [destination]
The switch /E - means it copies all subdirectories from the source including empty ones to the destination
The switch /Y - means it will not ask you to confirm overwriting a file.
I'm pretty sure you can tell where you need to put your files etc. Change the code according to where/what you folders are.
Oh yeh I had everything from my PSP on there, including the ISO that I wanted to test which was Gradius Collection. So after it copied like 2239 files (included music ). I put PSP on and tested Devhook. OMG its working.
I'm pretty sure step 5 is what made it work, but I thought I'd write exactly what I did to make sure

as you might know you can put video's on you psp but you need to convert it to mp4 format. you can do this with a hundreds of programs. but the one wich is most use is PSP VIDEO 9 wich you can get from here http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-bin/ ? ,0,18,1657
the first thing you need to do is to install the program psp video 9.
while it is installing you can make an folder on you psp.this is need to put in the video's.make the folder with the name MP_ROOT in this folder you make another folder called 100MNV01.now you that you have installed you program launch it. you see that the program ask wich drive name you psp has.now select the psp drive and press ok. now you can begin to convert. there are many options for you. all these options have different quallity making your movie bigger or smaller .choose one you like and convert it.

THanks to Fanjita you can run homebrew on 2.xx. but this doesnt work on 2.7
but the problem is you will need gta lcs. so to play homebrew will cost you money.probaly this can be done with other games.but for now its only gta.
To install:

Use WinRAR to unpack the package into the root (topmost) folder on your memory stick. Note that if you have an existing GTA savegame that uses slot 5, then this will be overwritten by the eLoader savegame.
You can see which slots you are using by the folder names - ULES00182SX, ULES00151SX or ULUS10041SX : X is the slot number.
To make sure that the eLoader is not auto-started by GTA, you can copy another GTA savegame folder off your memory
stick, and then back onto the memory stick now.
Now you can copy your homebrew files into subfolders in the /psp/game/ folder.
To use:

Start up GTA as normal. When it has loaded, select "Load Game", select the eLoader savegame and
confirm the load as normal. After a short delay, the eLoader menu should appear. Select the homebrew to run using
the D-Pad, and the X button. You can select a CPU speed with the L + R shoulder buttons, or press START to restart your PSP.
To return to the menu, you can usually hold the L+R shoulder buttons, then hold START for a few seconds. This doesn't work for every application.
The HOME button doesn't work, this is a known problem.
Troubleshooting:
================
One common problem is that sometimes GTA has problems if it auto-loads this savegame at startup. You can
avoid this by making sure that the datestamp on the new savedata folders is older than the most recent
game that you saved with GTA. This should happen automatically if you use WinRAR to extract the files.
If you still have problems with GTA crashing as soon as it starts, then try this:
* Start GTA with no memory stick inserted. You should get a warning, and then start the intro movies.
* Once the intro has finished, either play through the first mission until you can get to a
game save point, or just load up an existing save (not the Tetris save).
* Now save your position in a new save slot.
You should then find that GTA autoloads your normal savegame, letting you select the eLoader savegame later.
You might find that removing unused save folders helps. There are 3 versions of the folders in this package,
to cover all known versions of the game. You only really need the version appropriate to your copy of the game,
which is:
ULES00182S* for German GTA
ULUS10041S* for US GTA
ULES00151S* for all other versions.

There are some 2.0 games that will work on a 1.5 psp if you use this PSP 2.X PRX & EBOOT File Decryptor.
here is how to use it.
1.create a folder called Enc in X:Enc
2.in this folder you must place the eboot.bin and prx data files. wich can be found in the unpacked iso's
3. place the folders decrypt and decrypt% in X:PSP/GAME
4. launch the homebrew.
5. now it will encode the files. wait until it returns to home.
6. the new files are now in folder Dec wich the homebrew made.]
7.replace the new files over the old files from the iso.
8 now repack your iso.

Ok, people have been asking me how I changed my boot sound and/or gameboot and all, so heres how.
THIS IS FOR FIRMWARE 1.5 ONLY! Its not my fault if you fuck up your PSP!
Ok, so first download this ZIP file here: http://www.filelodge.com/files/room11/2 ? 0Flash.zip
Just unzip that and put the two folders into your GAME folder on your memory stick. This is an app called X-FLASH (my fav modding program)
Inside there I changed some stuff. The original X-FLASH comes with a digital looking font, some other gameboot and a diff boot sound.
I put these in:

- An awesome font that speaks for itself:
Just select what you want in the menu on the PSP.
If you know how to maike your own custom fonts, gameboots, and bootsounds, you can put them in place of what I put by going in the XFLASH folder until you get to the "modified" folder and in there are all the modded things.
Other PMFs for gameboots can be ripped from UMDs.

Bootsounds can be made using any audio editor that can save in:
WAV format PCM 16-bit stereo
**THE BOOTSOUND MUST BE SAVED IN THAT EXACT FORMAT OR IT WONT CONVERT PROPERLY AND MIGHT MESS UP YOUR PSP!**
Also, the bootsound shouldn't be longer than 3 seconds, and no shorter than 1 second. Having it too logn or short will cause the PSP to speed up the sound and it wotn sound correct.
If you dont have an audio editor, download GoldWave. Its a gerat program, just download the demo, itll work perfectly for this.
Ok, once you have your boot sound in that format and all ready, you need to convert it to the correct format for the PSP. This would be .VAG. You can convert it with this program: MF Audio
The program is very easy to use. Set the input (the WAV fiule you made) and set the output (where you want the VAG file to go)
Ok, once you have that .VAG file, you need to set it into a "opening_plugin.rco". This is the file that flashes to the PSP. But first, you need to download this: PSP Menu Edit
Now, that program is very easy to use. If you like, you can change your PSP's menu with it, but Im not getting into that right now. For this, all you need to do is run that prgram and click on the box on the right side to select the 'VAG coldboot sound and then select the "opening_plugin.rco" file. (This file is included in the ZIP file you donwloaded)
Now once its saved that file, its ready to be flashed to the PSP! Just go to the XFLASH folder, and go to the "modified" folder and replace the "opening_plugin.rco" in there, with this one that you have made. Now when you select to change the boot sound in XFLASH, it will change to the sound you used.
NOTE: It may take a few tries to get it right, you might have to edit the WAV file and reconvert it and replace it in the "opening_plugin.rco" over and over to get it to work properly. You wont get bricked, just you might hear that the boot sound plays very fast (alvin an the chipmunks style).

1. Intro:
Ok, to change your gameboot, you need to SOMEHOW obtain the PMF video files off of a UMD. (DO NOT ASK FOR ISOS ON THIS SITE!!!) However, feel free to request a PMF from a certain game and someone who has it might be able to get it for you.
Ok, to get a PMF, you need to get it from a UMD. Either download an ISO somewhere (NOT HERE!) or dump a UMD yourself.
2. Dumping a UMD:
THIS STEP ONLY APPLIES IF YOU WANT TO DUMP THE UMD YOURSELF. IF YOU DOWNLOADED YOUR ISO, SKIP TO STEP 3.
To dump the UMD yourself, you need a program like UMD Ripper. Just put that on your PSP and run it with the UMD in the drive, it will rip the UMD to the mem stick. (This will take a while, so make sure you have something else to do other than stare at the PSP screen)
If you have sources, *cough*google*cough* you can download the ISOs rather than dumping them yourself.
Either way you obtain the UMD contents, the following steps are the same.
3. Decompressing a compressed ISO:
THIS STEP ONLY APPLIES IF YOU DOWNLOADED YOUR ISOS. IF YOU DUMPED IT YOURSELF, SKIP TO STEP 5.
If you choose to download game rips to get PMFs from, you might come across an unfamiliar format. if you get a file with the extension ".DAX" instead of ".ISO", you have a compressed ISO. ISOs are compressed with a great program called DAXZISO. This wonderful program can reduce some ISOs more than half their original size with no performance issues! Ok, but to get the normal ISO, you will need to decompress the DAX file. To do this, you will need to download DAXZISO
Once you've downloaded DAXZISO, extract the contents.The only folder you need to decompress the ISOs is the folder named "DAX Creator 0.3". Unless you plan to use DAXZISO to play ISOs on your PSP, you can delete everything else.
Ok, all you have to do to decompress:
- Go into the daxziso creator folder.
- Run "DAX Creator.exe"
- On "Mode", select "Decompress" form the drop-down box.
- Now just select the input file (the compressed ISO / ie: "codedarms.dax")
- Now, it will automatically select to output the decompressed ISO to the same directory as the input file.
- Click "Start" and a command box will come up. It will show the progress of decompression. It shouldn't take too long.
- Once its done. You have the ISO image of the UMD disc.
4. Obtaining the PMFs:
Now, if you downloaded your ISO, you need an ISO image reading program. I suggest this program: MagicISO Its only a demo, but it will work for this.
Install MagicISO and open the ISO with it. You will see the folders with all the game contents in it. This is different for every game, so find the folders with all the PMFs in it, copy that folder to someplace easily accessible such as your desktop. You can now delete the ISO if you don't plan to play it on your PSP or get any other files from it.
If you dumped the UMD yourself, you do the same thing except, you don't need any ISO reading program since the dump wont be put together into an ISO file, they will all be in a folder on your memory stick. Just find the folder with all the PMFs and copy it to your desktop or another safe place on your computer.
5. Testing PMFs:
Now, this part is trial and error.
There are a few methods to playing PMFs. These are what I recommend:
- PMFPlay H.624 codec for Windows - A codec for PC. Just install and you will be able to play PMFs through windows media player and other media players installed on your PC.
- PMF Player 10 - Runs on PSP. Just put the PMF you want to play in the ROOT of your mem stick and name it "MOVIE.PMF" The PMF player will automatically play it when you run it.
- You could also test gameboots with devhook. Just go to the "dh" folder and go to the firmware you plan to use to test the gameboot. For example, "250". The go to "flash0\vsh\resource". In there, you will find the "gameboot.pmf". Simply replace it and run devhook to test it.
NOTE: It is strongly cautioned to not use any PMF over 1.35MB for your gameboot as it may brick the PSP!! It has been tested that files up to 5MB work, but I cannot be held responsible for what happens to your PSP.
Ok, once you have found the correct PMF you want as your gameboot, double-check that it is less than 1MB. If it is, you're good!
- Now rename the PMF to "GAMEBOOT.PMF" and put it in the ROOT of your mem stick.
- Download PSP Set and put it on your mem stick just like all other homebrew.
- Run PSP Set, and select the option for "Change gameboot" and it will let you know that it has successfully changed your gameboot!
6.GOODIES!!:
I just had to include some extra stuff for everyone. So if you cant get your hands on an ISO, cant dump a UMD, still are baffled by changing gameboots, or just cant find a good gameboot, here are some of my favorites for all of you! They are all from Prince Of Persia and are all similar, but each one's a bit different:
- Gameboot #1 PoP gameboot, the one with the slashes and the blood splatter. Shown in my 1337 PSP tutorial. Very good gameboot
- Gameboot #2 Much like the one above but with a bunch of slashes going all directions instead of just three. This one is a bit longer though, so it cuts off the blood splatter. Not the best gameboot, but it goes with this set.
- Gameboot #3 MY PERSONAL FAV! Just like the first, but instead of the slashes, its big claw scratches! looks REALLY good on the PSP!
- Gameboot #4 Shows a glowing red circle around the PSP logo, would be very cool if it could go longer, but gameboots cut off after 3 seconds, so this isn't the best gameboot either, but worth a look.
- Gameboot #5 Just like the first 3 gameboots, this one has the blood splatter at the end, but no slashes. It just displays a quick red glow and a blood splatter. A really nice gameboot also.
- Gameboot #6 This is the Prince Of Persia logo screen. It starts with a red glow and cuts off perfectly before the PoP logo shows up, so it leaves a really nice red glow around the PSP logo. Plain gameboot, but if you want something quite and simple, this is your gameboot.

- This tutorial will show you how to change the images that show up when you go to the system settings menu and click on "About PSP". It will also teach you how to edit the text "About PSP" and any other text in the system settings menu.
- What are the risks?
- Well, the risks can be everything if you don't know what you are doing. I HIGHLY recommend installing custom firmware AND testing this on devhook before attempting any flash writing.
- What's required?
- Just a 1.5 PSP, the links I provide, and some common sense. It will help if you have some experience with HEX editing, but I will guide you through it so it?s not needed, only helpful. Check the list of stuff you will need below also:
What you need:
- PSP with 1.5 firmware of course
- A hex editor. (If you don't have one, I recommend HHD Free Hex Editor; it?s a great freeware hex editor with no ads or anything. Download: http://www.hhdsoftware.com/free-hex-editor.html ) (I use this hex editor, so it might be easier to follow the tutorial if you use the same program I use, it will also make it easier for me to answer questions you might have.)
- A brain
- sysconf_plugin.rco: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/708 (This is the file you will be working with.)
- sysconf_plugin.rco FLASHER APP: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/709
- A program that can save and optimize .PNG images. I HIGHLY recommend using Adobe ImageReady which comes bundled with Photoshop. If you don't have Photoshop, download the 30 day trial from here: http://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/photosho ? tryout.zip
Ok, now to the actual tutorial.
First, open up your hex editor and open up the sysconf_plugin.rco file you downloaded.
Now at first you will see a whole bunch of letters and numbers on the left and even crazier looking text on the right side:
Hex editing includes the three columns you see.
- The left column of bold numbers and letters is used to down what line you are on.
- The middle column is the actual file. It displays the opened file in the hexadecimal format which uses 15 characters that can be combined into pairs of two to create any character. The characters are: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a, b, c, d, e, f (one-digit numbers and the first six letters of the alphabet).
- The right column is the ASCII translation of the hex code. Most of this will look like gibberish, but you will find some English in files such as this. In here you will find the menu names such as "About PSP" "USB Connection" etc.
When in a hex editor, you can edit the ASCII by clicking your cursor into the right column and then simply editing it. Or you can edit the hex by clicking into the middle column and editing it.
To edit the text in the file, you just scroll down till you find the item you want to edit. (English should start at line 0001fcb0). Once you find the editable text, you simply click on the character you want to change and replace it by typing a new character next to it and deleting the original character, leaving the new character in its place. Make sure you DO NOT extend the file (don't add more characters than what you started with) and DO NOT remove characters without putting another character in its place. This means you can only have the same amount of characters that you started with. So if you want to edit "USB Mode" You CANNOT make it "PSP connected to PC". You could change it to something like "Transfer". You can also make it shorter, like changing "USB Mode" to "Com" but that means padding out the rest with spaces, so you would have to simply replace the rest of the characters with spaces like this:
As you can see, you need to keep the same length so the file will be the same size and everything is still in place. Otherwise, the PSP won?t read the correct things and screw up, and possibly RSoD:
You don't want this because it?s not like the BSoD which is recoverable, the red screen means death, it?s like the blood of your PSP. This is why I say TEST IN DEVHOOK FIRST!!! (YES, the 1.5 sysconf_plugin.rco WILL work in any emulated firmware; you can test it in devhook. Just note that some text won?t appear since it?s not set in the file, but that is just the firmware difference, no need to worry about it. Also when you test it in a higher firmware, the images will be shrunken a bit, again, no need to worry, it?s a firmware difference, as long as the images and text show how you expect and you don't get a red screen or any other errors, its good. But I still recommend installing custom firmware also. Harleyg's v2 is great! I don't know why anyone wouldn't want it!)
Ok, so you now know how to change text, you can keep scrolling around the English part to change the text however you like. And if desired, find other languages and mess with the text also.
I've also made a list of the locations of some of the best text to edit for you so you don't have to do so much searching:
00020590 - System Information (Option in the system settings menu)
000205c0 - MAC Address (In the system information screen)
00020790 - About PSP (Last option in the system settings menu)
00021970 - Connect a USB cable (Shown in USB mode when no USB cable is connected)
000219a0 - USB Mode (Shown when in USB mode)
00021cc0 - System Software (In the system information screen)
00021c30 - USB Connection (Shown at the top left when in USB Mode)
Just go to the line with the corresponding number/letter combo and you will find the editable text. And remember, there is plenty other text that you can edit, just look through the English part, it?s very easy.
Ok, so you got the text stuff down. Now to the image editing! But BEWARE, this is quite a bit harder than editing text.
First things first, you need your images, right? Well, here?s what you have to know about the images.
The images, just like the text, must be the exact size as the original or smaller. If it?s smaller, you have to pad it out with empty spaces to get it down to the last byte!! This is IMPORTANT! It sounds more complicated than it really is though. So don't sit there worrying about it, Ill explain how to do it all in the next steps.
Ok, now first thing you have to do is find where your images are at in the file. You can easily do this by doing a search for "PNG" in the ASCII column. The only place PNG shows up in this file is in the png image headers, so each time you see it, it?s a new image. The first image to edit is the second one in the file. And the second image to edit is the second to last one in the file.
Now first, we'll work with this first image.
To make it easy on you, ill tell you exactly what line the image begins and ends at:
- Beginning: 00043430 (Starts with the odd looking symbol to the left of the "PNG". You can see what I mean in the image)
- End: 00043ba0 (Ends with "IENDŽB`?". Again, you can see what I mean in this next image)
Ok, so once you have the whole image highlighted right-click and select copy or press ctrl + V to copy. Now, go to file > new and in this new file, paste the image. You'll have all the code. Check to the bottom and the image should end at line 00000770.
If it doesn?t look like that, you will want to go back and make sure you copied everything correctly, and then try again.
Now, if what you copied matches, good, you're on track. Now, save this new file as a png image ("WHATEVERNAME.png"). Now open up this PNG in whatever image viewer/editor you like and make sure it loads correctly, it should look like this:
If it does, good. Now go to the folder you saved the png in and right-click and select properties. The image should be 1,907 bytes:
If everything matches with your image, run Photoshop and make a new image with the dimensions: 480 (height) x 40 (width). (KEEP THE HEX EDITOR OPEN!!)
Now fill this image with whatever you want, but try to keep the colors to a minimum. Remember, you image has to be less than 1,907 bytes!! So I suggest keeping it grayscale (shades of black and white and grey) and maybe one or two colors, depending if you used a lot or little shades of white in the image. The image should have a black background anyway since it only gets centered on the screen and the PSP fills in the rest with black. So if you made your image completely white, you would end up with this:
Ok, so once you have the image at the right dimensions and you have everything how you want it, click the button on the very bottom of the toolbox in Photoshop:
This will open up ImageReady and open your image in it. Now, in ImageReady, you have to change a few settings. You'll find a box like in the next picture, change the settings to look identical to this image:
(Don?t worry about the preset option, it becomes [unnamed] once you select different settings)
Now, you can check the projected file size on the bottom of the image window in ImageReady:
(It shows it in kilobytes, so 1,907 bytes is about 1.86kb, so check it compared to 1.86).
Notice the part circled in red where it shows the image's file size. If the number is 1.86 or lower, you are good, just right-click on the image and save it from your browser.
Now if it?s higher than 1.86, you can try a one thing to make it smaller. Go back to that box in ImageReady and lower the amount of colors in the color table:
You can try all different numbers and keep checking the size in the image window. Once you have it at 1,907 or less, you?re good. Just make sure the quality isn?t so bad. You can check the quality by pressing the Y key on your keyboard. It will change the quality of the image to how it will look once it?s saved as a png. Press Y again to change it back and edit. You may end up not being able to make the image small enough without having crummy quality. If you had to reduce to a very low amount of colors, your image might look pixelated, grainy, and just bad. If so, you'll have to make a new image or adjust the stuff in the image, remove stuff, manually adjust colors out, etc.
Once you have the image at the right size and a quality that can pass for you, go to File > Save Optimized As... and save it as a png image.
Now that you have the first image, you might have to do a little tweaking. Find the file on your computer and right click and select properties. Check the file size. If it is EXACTLY 1,907 bytes, you are lucky and don't have to do this next part. If it is more than 1,907 bytes, you didn't follow directions properly and you should go back and redo your image following every step. If it is lower than 1,907 (which is most probable), you will have to pad out the image to hit EXACTLY 1,907 bytes.
Open up your image in the hex editor while keeping open the new file you had made from the original image. This new image has to match up with the original down to the byte. So you have to pad out with zeros (00) to reach the file size needed. Every pair of hex numbers/letters is one byte. That means each 00 you add is one more byte added to the image. So, you can count the zeros like that till you reach 1,907 file size, or you can more simply pad it out to the same line and space as the original, in this case, line: 00000770:
To pad it out, ALL you do is add pairs of zeros to the middle column (the hex column). You add them ALL THE WAY at the end of the file after the "IENDŽB`?" as seen in the image above.
Once you've gotten it down to where it should be, save the file as a png. Now find the file and right-click and select properties and check the file size. If its EXACTLY 1,907, then you're good, you did the padding correctly! If it is lower/higher than 1,907, you should go back to it in the hex editor and add/remove more pairs of zeros till you get to the 1,907 file size (remember, each pair of zeros adds one byte).
Now leave that file somewhere you will remember (ie: desktop) and we will get back to it after you get your second image set up.
Now you'll have to repeat the steps again for the second image, but with a few differences. I would normally say, go back, but follow this, but since I know a lot of people will want to do this, and many will get confused on it, I will repeat everything for the second image.
Ok, so we're at the second image. The following steps are just like the first image, so you should have no problem with this if you've gotten this far. Just some things have to be done a slight bit differently for the second image.
Just like with the first image, I'm going to tell you exactly what line the image begins and ends at:
- Beginning: 00047520 (Starts with the odd looking symbol to the left of the "PNG". You can see what I mean in the image)
- End: 0004a360 (Ends with "IENDŽB`?". Again, you can see what I mean in this next image)
Ok, so once you have the whole image highlighted right-click and select copy or press ctrl + V to copy. Now, go to file > new and in this new file, paste the image. You'll have all the code. Check to the bottom and the image should end at line 00002e30:
If it doesn?t look like that, you will want to go back and make sure you copied everything correctly, and then try again.

This file can be a bit bigger than the last one, so it can have a few more colors, but not so many more because remember, its also a bigger image in dimensions. Remember, you image has to be less than 11,837 bytes!! So I suggest keeping it grayscale (shades of black and white and grey) and maybe a couple or a few colors, depending if you used a lot or little shades of white in the image. This image, unlike the previous one, will fill the entire screen.
Ok, so once you have the image at the right dimensions and you have everything how you want it, click the button on the very bottom of the toolbox in Photoshop:

Ok, if you've gotten this far, the last step shouldn't be too hard. All you have to do is put the new images you've made in place of the old ones in the sysconf_plugin.rco. Now all you have to do is be careful and watch everything you do to make sure you keep the image in the same spaces as the originals (NO MORE, NO LESS!!) and make sure the file ends at the same place it did when you started.
Ok, so pretty much here's what you do. We'll start with the first image. Now, remember the lines it began and ended at:
- Beginning: 00043430 (Starts with the odd looking symbol to the left of the "PNG")
- End: 00043ba0 (Ends with "IENDŽB`?")
Ok, so just select the entire image, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE WHOLE THING AND NOTHING MORE!
Now, before you edit it, look at the end of the image (IENDŽB`?). Note exactly where that comma (,) is:
Just note that it ends at the second to last space on line 00043ba0.
Now go and press delete and then ctrl + v to paste in the new image (of course, copy the new image first).
Now check to make sure it ends at the right spot: The second to last space on line 00043ba0.
Ok, now for the second image. The procedure is the same; here are directions with the lines and pictures for this one.
Now, remember the lines it began and ended at:
- Beginning: 00047520 (Starts with the odd looking symbol to the left of the "PNG")
- End: 0004a360 (Ends with "IENDŽB`?")
Ok, so just select the entire image, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE WHOLE THING AND NOTHING MORE!
Now, before you edit it, look at the end of the image (IENDŽB`?). Note exactly where that comma (,) is:
Just note that it ends at the second to last space on line 00043ba0.
Now go and press delete and then ctrl + v to paste in the new image (of course, copy the new image first).
Now check to make sure it ends at the right spot: The 5th space on line 0004a360.
Ok, so you got your new images in place and you're almost finished. Just a few more things to check just to make sure.
First, scroll to the bottom of the file and make sure it ends at line 0004c910 like shown here:
If you scroll to the end like that, it should look exactly the same.
If it matches, then you edited everything properly and kept the original size, now save the file.
If you want to double-check, right-click and select properties on the sysconf_pluin.rco and check the file size, it should be 306kb.
Ok, here's where you could flash it, but I soooo strongly suggest testing it on devhook first, it?s not even funny. (How do you think I got that screen of the RSoD? Even I messed up, and if I messed up, you can too!) sooooo......
***DO NOT FLASH IT YET! I STRONGLY SUGGEST TESTING IT ON DEVHOOK!!***
Now, to test it on devhook, you do the following:
Copy sysconf_plugin.rco to this folder:
ms0:/dh/XXX/flash0/vsh/resource/
*XXX is whatever firmware folder (271, 260, 150, etc)
Just copy the new sysconf_plugin.rco into that resource folder and select yes to overwrite the old one (You might actually want to back up the original one in case you messed up while editing the file.)
Now just run devhook and check. Its common sense whether it works or not. If you see some text missing, don?t worry, that?s because you are testing the file on a higher firmware, so the text just isn?t in the file. All you have to do is test going into the about PSP screen. If it all goes through and no errors occur, you're good! (The images WILL be stretched and shrunken in higher firmware and after the 2 you WILL see black and white images because these images are only in the higher firmware and not in the file you edited because it?s from 1.5, don?t worry about it). So if you can go trough the pictures in the About PSP without a problem, you are good and ready to flash the file!
Now, I also suggest installing custom firmware! It?s not as important, but it can REALLY help you if you mess something up. I once messed up with a custom gameboot and I would have been screwed if it wasn't for custom firmware. I owe many thanks to Dark_Alex and all the devs who have worked off his proof of concept code. I recommend harleyg's v2 custom firmware if you're looking for one to use. ( http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/642 ) I can?t explain the custom firmware here though. there are plenty of tuts on it including the readme that?s in the file. I?m only suggesting you use it because not only will it help you recover your system if you ever screw it up (brick), but it will also give you a little convenience and some extra features that you might like.
Ok, back to the tut! Its time to flash the file and put this baby in the firmware!
All you have to do is Put the sysconf_plugin.rco in the ROOT of your memory stick. THE ROOT! NOWHERE ELSE, NO OTHER NAME! That means:
ms0:/sysconf_plugin.rco
And then open up the zip file with the flasher and put the 2 folders in the GAME folder on your memory stick:
ms0:/PSP/GAME/sysconf
ms0:/PSP/GAME/sysconf%
So you should have:
ms0:/sysconf_plugin.rco
ms0:/PSP/GAME/sysconf
ms0:/PSP/GAME/sysconf%
Ok, now you can simply go on the PSP, run the flasher and press x like it instructs you to do. Then wait about 30 seconds like it says and then press the HOME button and select yes. Now check your menus and the "About PSP" or whatever you have changed it to and see how it works!

no need for the profanity, but it's understood he did not write the guide, that he copied it, i didn't bother going through it because it honestly looks jumbled and hard to navigate (atleast on a forum page like this where it looks like he just copy and pasted from a site) but either way, there are more civil ways of expressing your dislike to someone 'stealing' a guide. he did leave all credit from what i can tell, but either way, this thread should be edited and closed perhaps?
