I'm not an experienced downgrader, nor do I pretend to be. I'm just a guy who's sick of sony, and wants to run homebrew. I've made a childish attempt, by manually editing the EBOOT.PBP for the 1.50 update, and changing all the 1.50 references to 2.80 references. Example:

This is an example of the header for the 1.50 update. So, by changing all the 1.50 references you see above, I tought I could trick the PSP into up-downgrading. So, if you're not lost yet, I put it on my PSP, and to my surprise, it started the update, but I didn't get very far. After that 'PSP' screen, it came back to me and said "The game could not be started. (80020148)". So, that means that somewhere else in the update, it is signed to prevent this sort of trick. I was wondering if anyone was willing to help me find that. Please remember, by offering your help, you neither agree to create a working downgrader, nor am I responsible for any damage to your and my PSP. I would assume that the only reason you're doing this is that you hate 2.71 as much as I, and wish to run homebrew. I admit, I'm about a newbish as possible when it comes to PSP software and hardware... I know the top of the ice berg, but that's it. If you want to help, that's great, I'd love to have it, if you don't, that's ok too, I can fully understand your wish to not brick your PSP.
