Someone stole my PSP a month or so ago, and now I'm looking to buy a new one off Ebay. I haven't kept up with the homebrew thing, since mine was purchased with 1.5 long ago and have been running homebrew ever since.
I think the white Japanese PSP's are cool, but i don't know what firmware they come with? Also, what is the oldest firmware that can be downgraded back to 1.5? Anybody know of any sellers selling downgradable PSPs?
thanks,
Scott

and if you see one without a letter but a sticker that says serial # for registration it is a 2.5 most likely TA-082

Is there any way to see on the box, before you buy, whether the mother board is a TA-082 or not? Is there some decisive entry in the serial code, like there is for which firmware version you're getting (A for 1.50...)?
If not then I'm going to have to wait until someone comes up with a way to safely downgrade a 2.60 TA-082 PSP.

Yes, but am I going to have to open every box and check the PSP before I find one without a TA_082 or is there a way to see that on the box, like the trick with the firmware versions?

Does Sony even still ship older firmware versions, or is it only the latest FW that is available firsthand? Could I attempt to exchange my new psp for a different one in store, or are they all the same? Could I get Sony to send me another non-TA by invoking the warranty or does it not cover "experiancing a power surge while upgrading" (hehe)?
Thank you in advance for even reading this long list of questions.
