What I mean by " brick " is that im asking if some users find it usefull or useless. Members should tell others their point of view of the FW 2.8 and what they think of it and why. Ill start of by saying thats its a brick because you cant play home brew or ISOs it sucks in the 2.8 zone.

fw 2.80 is a waste of time if u have a 2.71 or lower because it only has 2 crap featurs 1.rss video streaming 2.sub folders MuSIC,VIDEOS and PICTURE'S

that sucks for you guys....i get all of the features of 2.71 and soon 2.8 and homebrew. Thank you, devhook. I think its so unfair for you guys. You should know what homebrew is like, but the evil sony put limitations on such a godlike device....damn them...damn them all. But, youd never believe it! you might be able to run homebrew with that libtiff photo exploit! that is cool.

I feel lucky to have a 1.5 PSP, but I just have it for the options available to me. I hardly ever play homebrew or ISOs, it's just not the same as my SNES on my shelf or the N64 in the cupboard full of dust but if I ever wanted to for some reason, I could.
2.80 is for those who are classed as "casual gamers" who don't actually have the knowledge or the unlucky ones who had to return their PSP to Sony for repairs under warranty and had it downgraded without permission.
But life goes on, it's not all that great seen as though PSP games at the moment are very short or very repetitive most games go into either of these, put tekken lumines daxter and GTA into those easily ;)
Firmware - 1.0 > 1.5 > 2.0 > 2.5 > 2.6 > 1.5 > 2.6 > 1.5
I make my own signatures, isn't that an amazing and boring fact for me to put here? Don't PM me with an answer...well you could, give me something to talk about or you would probably be completely rude about the matter....just one more dot? ok ..... . |

I heard that there is homebrew on PSP firmware 2.80, now i hope there will be ISO and emulator compatiblility soon. Now that wouldnt make the 2.8 much of a brick after all.

I'm pretty sure that there would be homebrew/downgrader for 2.xx to 2.80 because of that exploit.

+1 hell yea but if homebrew is for fw 2.71 and up and a downgrader comes out im not gonna downgrade for a while im just going to use homebrew on my fw 2.71
p.s and +1 if u think the exploit is worth aveing and -1 if you think its not

as soon as a downgrader comes out for 2.71 my business will be back up and running cuz i just sold my 1.5 psp-s and have a demand for more but i only have 2.71 psp-s for now and dont want to get more till a surefire downgrader comes out

I need a PSP Firmware 2.80 downgrade because I wanna play ISOs and Emulators NOW !!! So ya'll should give me a holla when ones out. Now I wonder if the hombrew games will be played as a " .tif " file like the hellp world demo. Does anyone know when the first 2.80 homebrew game is coming out so I can also try this out?

EXACLY, because why i bought my GTA was to play homebrew and i found out that it was patched. so I said " damn " and wasted 55 EUROS because i already " Lived " the game.

the store mite take it back as a used game, maby 40 euros, its still a good game, lol {try swaping wit some1
im pissed with the 2nd gen psp, no more hb 4 a wile, its soposed to come out with fw 3.0 or higher.
the mobo will b completely different so i cant just disasemble it and put my old 1.5s mobo in it, its fu€#eĐ
hope they make a downgrader for the 3.0 fast after the 2.71 comes out {forget 2.8, jump over and work the new tecknology,lol}

the new gen psp probably need 3.0 and above cos this fw supports gprs, the inbuilt camera and new features..if you put 1.5 mobo in..i think the psp will be half bricked cos it can't support most of the inbuilt features.

Aiit guys... For all those who have PSP firmwares 2.8, the wait is almost over ( as well as this thread because everyone wwith 2.8 will downgrade ). We are all just one step away from being downgraded and for those with 2.71, congradulations. November 14 2006 is when the downgrader comes out and hell yes, will firmware 2.8 really be extinct. For those with the non compatible MOBOs, your time will come. I'm making this speech because 2.8 FW is coming to an end within 2 months. Flash games, ? no offence but i think they are laim. Hombrew ? well IT ROCKS !!!!! Do the rest of you agree ? It rocks!!!!! Without Fanjita, Dark alex, or any of those guys close to us, FW 1.5 would be rare these days because of no downdater. They gave us what we wouldnt emagine. Homebrew, UMD ISO loaders, Devhook, Emulators for PSP and so on. They gave us all that, for free ! Now we can play what nobody expected, Who expected super mario 64 to be on PSP ? Huh ? Nobody. They gave us ISO loaders where by most people download torrents and play PSP games for free ! Every single PSP owner who has downgraded their PSPs before, shoud be proud of Fanjita, Dark alex and their crew for their efforts.
I shall now conclude by saying that the 2.80 FW will be conquered soon. Play on GAMERS !!! 2.80 FW IS COMING TO AN END !!!!
