A quick question about MOVIES to DVDR

Thanks to anyone who can help....

What is a good program where i can take my mvies(like in .mpg or avi) and just burn them to dvdr so it can play on my dvd player?

p.s.
(i already can play VCD but i i can store more on dvdr)It is appreciated if anyone could help!

You'll have to re-encode .avi files to put them on a DVD-R.
Something like TMPGEnc may be able to help you there...

What are you on about??
Herbsman has just told you how to make them play on your DVD player. If you can encode already then why did you ask the question? There isnt a DVD player that i know of that will play AVI, except the Kiss 450 player that plays DivX Mpeg4, but Mpeg1 will not play on it.

o so as long as it is in .mpg i can just burn it to dvd and play..liek burn it as a "data file" and it will play?

I had the same problem when i first tried it,i could'nt just burn an mpeg file to dvdr i downloaded. I've got to author it with spruce up to get it to work on my DVD player. Might be wrong though, that's just the way i do it

I can burn .mpeg as data (CD-R) & it'll play on my Sony DVP-NS 305 stand alone DVD Player

I use DVD Architect to load mpeg1 or 2 & that way I can fit a couple of films on one DVD-R (depending on settings)
But ppl have this idea that cos cetain mpegs are 700Mb , that they will be able to fit loads on a DVD-R disc...this is not the case

My dvd player dosn't cdr i suppose it depends wat dvd player he's got?
