Hey guys I just bought a internel dvd burner and installed the hardware by replacing my old cd drive.
I instaled it myself but when I turn on my computer I get a message saying:
Disc Boot Failure,Please insert system disc and press enter.
I don't know what to do from here so could someone please help.
Also my computer will work when I install my old cd drive but not when the new dvd drive is in my computer it won't boot to windows.

1. Sounds to me like you may have knocked loode your hard drive cable.
2. If they are both on the same IDE cable did you set the burner jumper as the slave?

let me know if this works.

On the back of the burner next to where you plugged in your IDE Cable there is a jumper with 6 to 8 pins pull it off and set it to slave.

The settings should be marked lightly you may have to look closely they will read Master, Slave, Cable select

If they are both running on the same IDE cable the hard drive should be set to Master and the Burner set to Slave.
