can anyone tell me why i keep getting a flashing question mark and cd popping up in the corner of the screen when i play my backup copy of metal gear solid 3 snake eater, this is the only copied game it does this to.

Because the PS2 is having a hard time reading the data from the disc. Due to either; weak/dirty lens, or, bad burn/bad media. So try to find out the cause; clean the laser lens, clean the disc, reburn, reburn on Grade A media etc.. Whatever one you wish to try first.

ok, but the blank dvds i am using work fine on all the other games i burn.
the first time i burned the games i was burning at x8 but now i am burning less than x4 to which the games are booting much better but the only one i am having this problem with is metal gear solid 3.
i cleaned the lens this morning and now the ps2 is making a clicking sound twice when booting up the swap magic dvd.
what media do you suggest that i use? and what else do you think i should do?

The dreaded ps 2 disc read error again ! I've had my share of this problem with my ps 2 and I sure hope sony fixes the issue with the pricey ps 3 !

i would say try using Verbatim DVD-R 16x certified its what im using and havnt had a problem with any game yet.

sony will never fix anything they try to come around an obstacle the cheapest way they can thats sony.

it is most probably the game did you download it or burn it of an original

if original did the original even work on the ps2?

i have now got the game to work after i burned it at 1X on my dvd writer.

i downloaded the game from something like isohunt.com or mininova.org.

i have swap magic for my ps2 which is working now without any problems but if i download a copy of hd loader and hd advance will they work if i burn them to disc if i boot them with swap magic????
